Our lovely nurse Helena is helping little Mila manage her diabetes with extra care and attention. The small patch that we have highlighted is called a 'Freestyle Libre' it helps us monitor her blood sugar levels safely and comfortably, just like in humans!
It’s amazing how these little advances in care can make such a big difference to our furry friends 🐾

Our little visitor Halloumi came in for a heart scan recently and while his name might sound a little salty, his nature couldn’t be sweeter! 💚
At just one year old, we discovered he has a mild form of HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), a genetic heart condition seen in some cats. The good news is that it’s mild, so he doesn’t need any medication right now. We’ll just keep an eye on things with another check-up in six months to make sure his heart stays healthy and happy.
He was the perfect patient and won everyone over with his lovely nature! 🐾

🐾 Say hello to little Kiko, who came in to see Niamh for her microchip and first vaccine! She was such a brave girl and got plenty of cuddles for being such a star 💚
Getting your puppy or kitten microchipped and vaccinated early helps keep them safe and healthy as they grow and we’re here to make it a positive, happy experience from the very start!
In loving memory of....

🏖️ Minnie is back from her seaside adventures and in for her regular heart check-up with us today. We see her every 6 months to make sure her heart is doing well, but this time we’re also running a blood test to help figure out what’s behind a new skin allergy.
She’s the sweetest girl and took it all in her stride, especially with plenty of cuddles with our vet, Viraf 💚
If your pet is itching, scratching, or showing signs of allergies, it’s always worth getting them checked so they can feel more comfortable again.

When a cough comes out of nowhere, it can be a real worry, especially for older dogs. Bertie, a sweet 12-year-old, gave his family quite a scare with some coughing fits and even a little collapse 💚
After some thorough checks (and plenty of cuddles from our vet, Viraf), we’re pleased to say it looks like the cough is down to bronchitis rather than his heart. He’s now started on some medication to help open up his airways and make breathing easier. We’ll keep a close eye on him moving forward 🐾
The whole team at Wimbledon Veterinary Surgery are sending Bertie lots of love as he rests and recovers!

Meet Alfie: his owner noticed he was slowing down on his walks and wanted to make sure everything was okay. After some checks, we found that Alfie has a heart condition, but with the right medication he’ll still be able to enjoy the things he loves most. 🐾
Alfie’s now started treatment to give his heart a boost, and we’re hopeful it’ll help put the spring back in his step on his walks. ✨
👉 If your dog is slowing down or seems more tired than usual, it’s always worth getting them checked. Sometimes it’s more than just age and the right care can make a huge difference.

🐾 Outstanding Oscar 🐾
This is Oscar, a sweet little dog who’d been coughing for several months. His owner had already taken him to another vet but was worried about the cost of further investigations, so they came to us for a second opinion.
Second opinions are really common, and it’s always okay to seek extra reassurance if you’re concerned about your pet’s health 💚
We carried out a heart scan at a more affordable price, which showed Oscar has a heart condition and fluid in his lungs. The good news is this can be managed with some medication, and he should soon be feeling much more comfortable.

This sweetheart is Rosie with our Student Veterinary Nurse, Julia 💕 She came to us after her family were worried about her cough and a bit of a bloated tummy.
After our team checked in with her owner, we’re so pleased to say the medication we prescribed has already helped and her cough has cleared up beautifully. She’s feeling so much brighter now!
We’ll continue to keep a close eye on her and make sure she gets all the care and comfort she deserves 💚

This incredible 15-year-old gentleman is Icelos. He has been living with heart failure for the past 4 years, and with lots of care (and plenty of love!) he’s still doing really well 💚
He popped in for a check-up recently with our vet, Viraf, after developing hyperthyroidism (something that often goes hand in hand with heart disease in cats) but we’re so pleased to say he’s in great spirits and continuing to do brilliantly.
Senior pets like Icelos remind us how important regular check-ups are to help spot and manage health changes early. Book your appointment here 👉 https://bit.ly/48sdlLi

💚 Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference 💚
This is Buffy, a gorgeous 15-year-old who’s been coughing for a little while who was referred to us for a heart scan. After a few checks, we found her heart is lovely and strong, but she does have a collapsing trachea and a touch of bronchitis (.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀? It doesn’t always take complicated treatments to help our pets feel better. For Buffy, a gentle course of medication and simply swapping her collar for a harness will make her breathing much more comfortable.
It’s a lovely reminder that with the right support and a few small tweaks, our older pets can stay happy and enjoy their golden years to the fullest 🐾✨

🌼 Darling Daisy 🌼
This is Daisy, a lovely 9-year-old Schnauzer who came to see us after her owner noticed she was having some accidents at home. After running tests, we discovered that Daisy has diabetes.
The good news is diabetes in dogs can be managed really well with daily insulin injections, and with treatment Daisy should soon be feeling much better 💚
Dogs with diabetes often show signs like drinking more water than usual, needing to urinate more frequently, or sometimes weight loss so it’s always worth getting them checked if you spot any changes.
If you’ve noticed changes in your dog’s habits, book a check up with your vet as catching conditions like diabetes early makes a big difference.
