What if your dog reacts? 🤔

First things first, don't panic. A reaction isn't a setback; it's information. It simply tells us that your dog is finding the situation too difficult right now.

Instead of pushing through, remember these simple steps:

🐶 Retreat – Create some distance and help your dog feel safe.
👀 Evaluate – What caused the reaction? Was your dog too close, overwhelmed, or surprised?
📝 Adjust – Change your plan to set your dog up for success next time.
⭐ Capture – Reward the behaviours you want to see, even the small wins like checking in with you or choosing to disengage.
🍖 Treat – Dogs repeat what works. Reward the behaviours you want more of because you get what you reinforce!

Training isn't about perfection It's about making good choices easier for your dog.

Every reaction is an opportunity to learn, adjust and build confidence together.

Recently, I’ve had to deal with fake reviews and an attempted extortion situation targeting my Google profile. Unfortunately, this is something that can happen to small businesses and it’s been a reminder of just how important real feedback and genuine client relationships are.

I’ve reported it to Google, but unfortunately only some of the reviews have been removed so far.

I won’t be focusing on anything negative or fake.

Instead, I want to focus on what actually matters… the real dogs and owners I work with every day, and the progress they’re making.

Here are just a few of the recent reviews from clients who have put the work in and seen real results with their dogs 🐾

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my work and trust me with your dogs. It genuinely means a lot.

If you’re struggling with your dog’s behaviour on walks, reactivity, pulling or general obedience, I’m here to help.

My journey into dog training started with my own dog, Ashley.

Like a lot of owners, I went through trial and error trying to understand her behaviour and figure out what actually worked.

That experience is what led me to study dog behaviour properly, gain my qualifications, and eventually build a career helping other owners facing similar challenges 🙌🏼

If you’re struggling with reactivity, pulling on walks, recall or obedience, I can help.

Reggie is a 2 year old Labrador who was struggling with reactivity on walks.

After just a few sessions with his owner Pam, he’s already becoming calmer and more focused around other dogs.

Real progress, made through consistency and clear training.

Today marks the first official day of summer ☀️🐶

While the warmer weather seem's great for longer walks and more time outside, it can also create real risks for dogs.

Hot pavements, overheating, reduced energy levels and busier outdoor spaces can all impact how your dog behaves and copes on walks.

It’s also a time where we often see more pulling, more frustration and more overstimulation, especially in dogs that already struggle with focus or reactivity.

Summer walks should still be enjoyable, but safety and awareness matter just as much as training❗

“Leave it” might seem like a simple command but it can genuinely make a huge difference to your dog’s safety 🐾

With summer coming up, there’s more out on walks than ever… dropped food, BBQ leftovers, rubbish, garden chemicals and other things your dog really shouldn’t be getting into.

The reality is, dogs are quick, and in many cases you don’t always get time to react.

That’s where a reliable “leave it” comes in. It helps your dog make better choices, stay focused on you and avoid things that could cause harm.

It’s not just about obedience, it’s about safety and prevention.

📲 Message me if you need help teaching “leave it”, recall or improving focus on walks

A little bit of fun and games on today's walk with Ozzy and Cooper 🐾
Mixing play, engagement and a little bit of training with some luring work and a few commands along the way. Training doesn't always have to be serious – keeping it fun helps build focus, motivation and a stronger bond with your dog.
