Consistency is key when it comes to dog training 🔑🐶

It’s not about long sessions or getting everything perfect. It’s about showing up every day and reinforcing the same behaviours.

Dogs learn through repetition. Mixed messages or inconsistency can slow progress and create confusion.

Small, consistent training = real results ✅

Whether it’s lead walking, recall or general obedience, sticking to the same approach helps your dog understand what’s expected.

Harness or collar… which is better? 🐾

It’s something I get asked a lot, and the truth is, both have their place.

But when it comes to training and everyday walks, a well-fitted harness is often the better option. It gives you more control, reduces pressure on your dog’s neck, and helps avoid discomfort that can lead to negative associations.

Collars can still be useful for convenience or for dogs that don’t like wearing a harness, but they’re not ideal for managing pulling or building good habits on walks.

The right setup, alongside the right training, can make a big difference in how your dog behaves and feels on lead.

If you’re not sure what’s best for your dog or you’re struggling with pulling or control on walks, I’m here to help 🐶📲

April is Canine Fitness Month 🐶💪

A lot of people think a “fit” dog just needs long walks or loads of exercise… but there’s more to it than that.

True fitness includes:
• Physical exercise
• Mental stimulation
• Emotional balance

Without all three, dogs can still feel frustrated, overstimulated or unsettled, even after a long walk.

That’s where training comes in❗️

Obedience, recall and structured walks help your dog stay calm, focused and more balanced in everyday life.

A well-trained dog isn’t just easier to manage… they’re more fulfilled too.

If you want to improve your dog’s behaviour and overall wellbeing, I can help.

Happy National Pet Day 🐶🧡

Being a dog owner is about more than just walks and cuddles. It’s about making sure your dog’s needs are truly being met every day.

The Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare are a great reminder of what responsible ownership looks like, from providing the right environment and diet, to allowing natural behaviour and keeping your dog safe from harm.

Training plays a big part in this too. Helping your dog feel calm, confident and understood means they’re able to enjoy life the way they should.

It’s not about perfection… it’s about doing your best for your dog.

Happy National Puppy Day 🐶

The best time to start training your dog is when they're young.

Good habits built early lead to calmer, more confident dogs as they grow up.

Whether it's obedience, recall or building confidence, getting the foundations right makes all the difference.

If you've got a puppy and want to start the right way, I can help.

Barking, lunging or reacting on walks usually comes from fear, frustration or uncertainty... not stubbornness or dominance.

Punishment might stop the behaviour for a moment but it doesn’t fix the cause.

The right training helps reactive dogs feel calmer and more confident so real progress can happen.

If your dog struggles around other dogs or people, you're not alone and it can get better.

Next Friday is officially spring 🌱🐶

With the weather warming up, dogs are out more, walks get longer and distractions increase.

If your dog struggles with pulling, recall or reacting to other dogs, this time of year often makes those challenges more noticeable.

Spring is the perfect time to start training and build calm, confident behaviour that lasts all year round.

Whether it’s obedience training or help with a reactive dog, I can help 🙌🏼
