🎉🐾 DOUBLE DIGITS FOR HAZEL! 🐾🎉

Today our wonderful Hazel turns 10 years old 💖

Officially a veteran… although nobody has told Hazel that yet! She’s still busy supervising daily farm life, keeping an eye on absolutely everything, and making sure all jobs are carried out to her very high standards 🐶👀

Over the years Hazel has been:
✨ Chief safety officer
✨ Professional cuddle provider
✨ Yard supervisor
✨ Fence post inspector
✨ Mud enthusiast
✨ Loyal best friend

She’s been by our side through countless memories at Padwick Farm and we honestly couldn’t imagine farm life without her 💚

Happy 10th Birthday Hazel — here’s to more adventures, more treats, more muddy paws and many more years of being the queen of the farm 👑🐾

We think she deserves lots of birthday wishes today! 🎂👇

✨ Exciting news at Padwick Farm ✨

We are delighted to announce that Ivy is expecting her very first litter of beautiful working cocker spaniel puppies by Arnie, due at the end of June 🐾

This is a litter we are incredibly excited about, combining wonderful temperaments, trainability, and health-focused breeding. Puppies will be:

🐶 DNA clear of all known heritable diseases
🐶 Legally docked & dew claws removed
🐶 Farm raised in our busy family environment
🐶 Raw weaned
🐶 Well socialised with children, family life & cats

Both mum and dad can be seen, along with proud grandmother Hazel 💛

Our dogs are much-loved members of the family as well as capable working dogs, and we place huge importance on health, temperament, and producing confident, well-rounded puppies.

📩 Waiting list now being taken — please get in touch for more information.

Our woolly lawnmowers have an important job here at Padwick Farm 🐑🌿

Not only do the sheep help keep the pasture managed naturally, but they also play a valuable role in our parasite management programme for the horses. By mixed grazing, the sheep help break the parasite cycle, supporting healthier grazing for everyone while making the most of our fields in a natural, sustainable way.

And thankfully, we managed to get them all sheared by the lovely James just before this heatwave arrived ☀️✂️ They’re now looking much cooler, lighter, and very pleased with themselves!

There’s always something going on behind the scenes on the farm, and every animal here has their part to play

It’s never a dull day when Mark our farrier is here! He even gave Magic a little hair appointment too 🤣
We trim all of our horses in the fields which reduces disruption and makes for a happy, chilled herd 🦄

✨ Why do our horses always have access to Himalayan rock salt? ✨

Because sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference 🐴💛

Himalayan rock salt is a fantastic natural way to support your horse’s health and wellbeing. Unlike processed salt blocks, these natural salt licks encourage horses to self-regulate their intake — taking what they need, when they need it.

Benefits can include:
✔️ Supporting hydration and healthy drinking habits
✔️ Replacing essential electrolytes lost through sweating
✔️ Helping maintain healthy muscle and nerve function
✔️ Encouraging appetite and overall wellbeing
✔️ Providing a more natural enrichment option in the field or stable

At Padwick Farm, we believe retirement life should be as natural and stress-free as possible — with freedom, forage, friends… and the little extras that help horses feel their best 🐎🌿

There’s nothing better than watching content, relaxed horses enjoying herd life exactly as nature intended 💚

Do your horses enjoy a salt lick? We’d love to see photos in the comments 👇

✨ Then & Now ✨

Behind every rosette, every event round, every child’s best friend and every once-in-a-lifetime horse… is a horse that deserves to simply be a horse 💚

Some arrive with incredible competition careers behind them, some have spent years teaching families and children, and others just deserve a quieter pace of life. No matter their story, they all settle into the same thing here at Padwick Farm… relaxed herd life, gentle routine, and the freedom to enjoy life again 🐴

Watching them go from busy competition schedules or one-to-one lifestyles to grazing peacefully with friends, moving freely across the fields and truly switching off is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Because in reality, what your horse really wants is simple:

🌿 Friends
🌿 Forage
🌿 Freedom

Our retirement and rest livery is designed around exactly that — a calm, natural lifestyle with experienced care, daily monitoring and plenty of space to just enjoy being a horse again.

Whether they were a competition superstar or your much-loved family friend, every horse deserves a happy retirement ❤️
