I groom a lot of poodle crosses, such as Doodles and Cockerpoos in all sizes, with big, thick, high maintenance coats! Often I have to go shorter in areas that spoil the outline or take chunks out of areas of the coat to the skin because of matting and in extreme cases (had a lot of those lately) I have to shave the dogs short. I really don't like having to do this and to avoid this I thought I'd share some of my favorite tools and products with you.
I'm loving this slicker brush from Chris Christensen. It unique design and quality materials allows you to easily get right down to the skin, without causing drag and discomfort to the dog.

This is for large Doodles, if you have smaller breeds the following would suffice.

A comb through after line brushing (look it up on youtube) with a comb like this Groom Professional twice a week, will help keep your dogs coat in super condition.

Obviously you will need a lush, natural, conditioning grooming spray to make your work super easy and I recommend this product by Artero.
