Are you going on holiday and your dog needs a home away from home? Or do you need a bit of help with the care of your dog while you are at work? Or you just want your dog to spend a fun day with friendly and safe play mates? My name is Amélie and I run Groovy Pups, together with Pozzo, my Working Cocker Spaniel, and Lucy, my Labradoodle. I have grown up with dogs, either my own or taking care of f

riends’, and after 15 years of working in International Development, I relocated from London to Leeds with my Leeds-born partner and decided to follow my childhood dream of working with and taking care of dogs. I offer a variety of professional and premium services for your furry friend(s) ranging from group dog walking, solo dog walking or tailored pop-ins for dogs who may be a little anxious, older or recovering from an injury as well as tailored puppy visits. All services are offered in a safe environment and in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner, suing solely reward-based, force free methods of care. For your peace of mind, I am:

* Level 3 Canine First Aid certified
* Level 3 Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare certified

The walks vary daily in the beautiful parks and countryside around North Leeds where the doggies can have lots of fun, explore and play safely. I like to keep the groups small and never walk more than 6 dogs at one time. Solo walks, pop-ins and puppy visits are tailored around you and your dog’s requirements. While walks are important for our dogs, regular enrichment that allows dogs to engage in their natural behaviour such as problem solving, bonding, playing, thinking, smelling, digging, chewing, etc..., is also key to happy, healthy and confident dogs. Therefore, each walk/visit includes enrichment activities customised to each dogs’ needs, physical abilities, energy levels and temperament. To ensure all my furry guests have a positive experience, I offer a free & no obligation meet and greet where we’ll go for a walk together, see if the dogs get along and are a good fit and where we can discuss your needs. The lunchtime crew definitely kept me on my toes today! 🤦‍♀️😂 Bertie found some human poo to eat, Luna found some more human poo to eat, and Barney was on a mission for discarded tissues… glamorous dog walker life at its finest! I managed to steer them away from most of it 😅

It was also lovely to bump into Kamila and her lovely doggies Wild Paw and finally meet in person! Although, of course, Bertie and Barney chose today not to show off their usually excellent recall 🙈 I think the oppressive weather had scrambled their little brains a bit, they didn’t even fancy the games they normally love!

A good reminder that doggies aren’t robots, some days they’re just not feeling it, and that’s okay as long as we stay safe and support them where they’re at ☺️❤️

We started Monday with a lovely gentle stroll and it was so nice to see the gang again after the weekend 🐾 Lots of sniffing, cuddles and taking things at a slower pace 💛

Lunchtime brought quite bit more energy (and fewer photos!), so we focused on some calm, quiet games to help everyone settle and bring the excitement down a bit 😅.

We also had some lovely solo walks with sweet Mr. J 🥰 Gentle strolls, lots of cuddles and taking life at his own pace with this gorgeous older boy.

And little Maggie did brilliantly again today 🌟 We’re still working on making her more confident around the car and we managed to opened the car doors. She explored and sniffed completely at her own pace. Baby steps, always led by her. A
water bottle gave her a little fright 😅 but she recovered and we finished the session on a high by the car again 💛
