Working within our lovely team of staff and horses at Swithens Farn Livery Yard LS26 0BT.
Duties include, changing rugs, turning out, mucking out, sweeping, tidying etc and then bringing back in and putting to bed.
Hours are saturday and / or Sunday 9am - 5pm with additional shifts available to cover sickness and holiday days.
Minimum wage.
Applicants must be 16+ years
Must have some experience with horses as you will be handling a wide range of horses and ponies on a daily basis.

Yard Manager Vacancy – Rothwell LS26

Our livery yard is on the lookout for a new Yard Manager!

We are one of the largest livery yards in Yorkshire, offering a wide range of services to our fab liveries, from DIY to Full and everything in between.

This makes for a busy day-to-day schedule with no day ever being the same.

The role is offered as a Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm position, with one in 4 Sundays (day off in lieu for this).

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills – you will be planning the daily activities of yourself and a team of staff, as well as reacting to a range of situations as they arise.
Sound experience with horses & ideally experience working in the equine industry, though this is not essential.
Good communication & people skills
The ability to handle situations, staff, horse owners, and horses in a calm and professional manner
Supervisory/management background & experience motivating a team would be highly beneficial
Physical ability to carry out yard duties such as mucking out, turning in/out, managing field fencing, etc.

Family run working farm with petting farm and cafe onsite. The livery is kept completely separate from the attraction but liveries can often be found with a brew and cake in the cafe 🍰

🔹Farm made hay and straw available all year round delivered to your stable weekly.
🔹Bald paddocks are also available which are ideal for equines with health issues.

We have available-

3 Full Livery spaces available starting from- £125 per week

2 DIY spaces with option to add extras from-£35 per week

Summer only Grass livery available between May- October starting from £40 per week

We do out best to make our service as flexible as it needs to be to suit each individuals needs.

We run from a live livery app which enables you to change or add charged services at anytime which gives peace of mind if life gets in the way 😄

**Yard Work Available***
We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team at Swithens Farm Livery Yard LS26 working Sunday & Monday 8am - 5pm with additional shifts available across the week for holiday cover/ sickness/ workload as required. Applicants would ideally have previous experience in a similar environment with a positive & professional attitude and be confident handling a wide range of horses & ponies in a responsible & patient manner.

Requirements are
* You will need to be calm and patient with both the horses and the owners and be confident around all types of horses.
* friendly and approachable to horse owners and other members of staff.
* Experience is essential as you will be supervising the rest of the team.
* The ability to motivate other staff members.
* The right applicant will have potential to be yard manager in the future.
* 100% reliable
* Ability to organise staff members for the day to day running of the yard.
* Ability to work on your own and use initiative.

5 day week 8-5 plus 1 Sunday in 4. Jobs include turning out, bringing in, mucking out, fencing and paddock maintenance.
This is a big yard with some amazing liveries, we are just looking for someone to take the pressure off the family who run the whole property. Ability to run a team is a must
