🐱 It's volunteer appreciation week and we're kicking it off by celebrating our wonderful cat volunteers 🐱

Our cat volunteers are truly extraordinary!
So far this year alone, they have dedicated an incredible 2,254 hours to helping the cats in our care.

To put that into perspective, that's the equivalent of more than one full-time member of staff working for an entire year!

Those 2,254 hours have been spent:

🐾 Cleaning and preparing cat pens
🐾 Feeding and caring for our residents
🐾 Providing cuddles, comfort and companionship
🐾 Supporting nervous cats as they learn to trust again
🐾 Helping with rehabilitation and enrichment
🐾 Giving every cat the individual attention they deserve

Many of our cats arrive scared, confused or lacking confidence. Our volunteers play a vital role in helping them feel safe, secure and ready for their forever homes.

Behind every successful adoption is a team of dedicated people who have invested their time, patience and love into that animal's journey.

To our cat volunteers, thank you for every litter tray cleaned, every meal served, every toy waved, every gentle cuddle and every hour you've given.

The difference you make is immeasurable, and we simply couldn't do it without you. ❤️

Forever Home Update | Morris & Matilda 🐾

Morris and Matilda are an absolute joy in their new home! We've got some wonderful news to share – both kittens have now been neutered, which is such an important step in responsible pet ownership.

Neutering helps prevent unwanted litters and is recommended by vets as part of good cat healthcare. Matilda's post-op healing went brilliantly – she's already back to her playful self after her little medical jacket came off. Both kittens are thriving and bringing so much love to their new family.

If you're thinking of adopting a kitten or cat, neutering is something we always recommend discussing with your vet.

Thank you to Morris and Matilda's family for taking such wonderful care of them.

🛎️ Special delivery… it’s Bellman the Beagle! 🛎️

Bellman may officially be a “senior gentleman,” but nobody seems to have told him that. He’s still full of life, always ready for an adventure, and takes absolutely everything in his stride. Other dogs? No problem. Children? Lovely. A countryside hike followed by a dramatic beagle flop onto the sofa? That’s the dream.

As a retired hound, Bellman is looking for the finer things in life now, comfy beds, cosy afternoons, snacks accepted at regular intervals, and humans who appreciate a loyal companion with excellent ears and even better manners.

We’ve been blown away by the generosity of customers at Pets at Home Kendal over the bank holiday weekend.
We met so many lovely people and dogs during the Wishlist Weekend and our rescue dogs and cats are enjoying the wonderful gifts you donated to us. We’ll also be treating them to some extra presents with the £155 you donated over the weekend. Thank you so much ❤️

Forever Home Update | Cleo 🐾

Cleo didn't have the best start in life, but she didn't let it affect her lovely, friendly personality. One of our volunteers, Pat, took her on as a foster – and she settled in so well that she chose her forever family.

She became a foster fail, and we couldn't be happier about it!

Cleo is now settling into her new life really well. Her confidence is growing every day, and she's turning into a proper little adventure dog! Her parents have been working really hard on her recall (she really wants to make friends with squirrels!), and it's paying off, giving her the freedom she needs to be a happy dog. Her favourite thing of all is snuggling on the couch – especially if it's raining!

Thank you to Pat and Cleo's new family for giving her the love and patience she deserves.
