PEPPA IS SAFE!!
Peppa went missing whilst at Windermere Marina on 30 June and was lost for 43 days. Thanks to our caring community and local tourists who kept hope alive for Peppa as the weeks went by, we finally had a cluster of sightings reported to us this week and, with the amazing support from Kenzie's K9s- animal search & rescue who worked through the night last night to bring Peppa home, she is finally safe after her ordeal.
It’s been a massive operation to locate Peppa, with posters distributed across a wide area, drone searches, feeding stations and food trails set up and managed daily, WiFi cameras monitored and regularly re-charged, and tracker dog searches.
We were heartened by the interest in Peppa’s plight and the many offers of help.
In the end, it was sightings called in by the community since Monday evening that enabled Kenzie’s K9s Animal Search and Rescue to pinpoint her location and lure her into a humane dog trap at around midnight last night.
We are overjoyed to see little Peppa again, although she has lost a great deal of weight and will need lots of TLC and good food in the days to come.
A massive thank you to everyone in our community who has dared to hope she was still alive after all this time and for playing a part in bringing her home.
