Seasonal Spotlight: The Robin ❄️
As autumn fades and winter settles in, the robin takes centre stage. With its red breast and sweet song, it’s a familiar sight in frosty gardens and festive scenes.
Robins are bold, curious, and often stay close to humans, especially when food is scarce. Their year-round song brings a little joy to even the coldest mornings.
🌟 Fun fact: Robins on Christmas cards date back to Victorian postmen, nicknamed “robins” for their red uniforms!

Out in the garden this weekend? Here is your 🐦
A plump bird, the Nuthatch is about the size of a great tit and is identifiable by its blue-grey above and whitish below, with chestnut on its sides and under its tail. It also has a black stripe on its head and a long, black pointed bill. Feeding mainly on insects, it will happily visit bird tables to feast on hazelnuts, acorns and seeds.
