ey are sold to contract testing laboratories across the UK for toxicology testing. They are treated as a product. We know that they are living, breathing, sentient beings that feel pain and loss. Our primary objectives are to free the beagle dogs bred at MBR Acres Ltd and to ban animal testing in the UK. Our strategy consists of a public awareness campaign, lawful pressure tactics, industry exposure and to challenge the current law with scientific and ethical arguments and process.

The cries recorded outside MBR Acres again this morning are heartbreaking.!!

The sound of distressed puppies carries far beyond the fences.
It’s impossible to hear those cries and not wonder what those animals are experiencing behind closed doors.

For many people, those sounds are impossible to forget.
They are a reminder of why so many continue to campaign for an end to the breeding of dogs for laboratory use.

IS ASRU GUILTY OF A CRIMINAL OFFENCE?

Has ASRU breached the law by identifying Labcorp as the licence holder in a Non-Technical Summary (NTS)?

The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 states that a project summary must not contain:
"Names or addresses or any other information from which the identity of the applicant or any other person can be ascertained." (Section 5A(3)(b))

Section 24 of the Act also makes it an offence to disclose information obtained through official duties if it was given in confidence.

Despite this, ASRU has published a Non-Technical Summary for Project 12: Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamic and Tolerability Studies with Pharmaceuticals, identifying Labcorp as the establishment.

The licence authorises the use of 34,800 animals, including: • 16,500 mice • 16,500 rats • 300 rabbits • 500 minipigs • 500 beagles • 500 long-tailed macaques

Given that publishing the establishment Labcorp is contrary to Sections 5A and 24 of ASPA, we believe a criminal offence has been committed.

This offence carries a maximum penalty of two years' imprisonment, an unlimited fine, or both.

We have attempted to report this matter to the Metropolitan Police, this was not successful.

Before trying to report this we sent a freedom of information request to ASRU to check if an establishment since 2020 had given them permission to name them in a NTS. The answer was no.

Any advice from our followers as to how best to report this crime would be greatly appreciated.
