He’s done really well with all his training, and did great in his last session even in spite of the hail!

Remember Obi? He just finished his Puppy Package with me, and he also came along to my Puppy power course and is a regular at Training Club sessions. Obi is awesome little dog and his fantastic family are all (including his fantastic junior handlers) incredibly invested in his training!

I love getting to follow a dog’s journey as they grow, and I’m looking forward to some training walks or day school sessions with Obi soon.

🐾🐾School holidays🐾🐾
We all know how important it is that kids and dogs in the household, have a great relationship with each other. Here's me starting young🤣
The summer holidays are fast approaching and I'm thinking of running some daytime midweek workshops during the summer, specifically aimed at kids having fun learning with their dogs.
These would be small groups,held indoors, looking at things like fun tricks with a little bit about dog care and safety in there too.
A parent or guardian would need to be present with each child as well.
You would need to have trained with us before in class or one to one and obviously dogs would need to be comfortable (and manageable) around other dogs, kids and adults to attend.
Just trying to gauge interest!

Now the weather is finally warming up, are you taking your dog swimming?

Whether you’re hitting the beach, river, or reservoir, do be prepared for the dangers of cold water swimming, and understand that it can be a lot more tiring for your dog than you (or they!) might recognise. Take lots of breaks and for the real water lovers, know that a floatation jacket can be a fantastic investment to let your dog enjoy more time in the water safely.

What did we get up to at Training Club this month?

We worked on progressing some all important foundations (settle on a mat, loose lead, and positions) as well as a bit of something new with the Emergency Stop! We also made a start on some foundation scent games to introduce some low key options in preparation for the hot weather forecast ahead ☀️

Guess who got a treat delivery from the awesome ! We love our natural chews and Jenga loves to get to open them (yes i monitor her, no she never eats the paper).and choose one for herself. After all they are for her! Our dogs spend so much time fitting in with our world, I always think it's nice to let them have a choice whenever they can and what better way to do it than with an awesome tasty chew at the end. Here's to a quiet evening🤣🤣 Jenga went straight for the lamb tube,what's your dogs favourite chew?

Warning to folks around the deer hill area in Huddersfield.

⚠️ DOG OWNERS IN / AROUND MELTHAM ⚠️

There have now been repeated reports of piles of sausages found around the Deer Hill area, suspected to be laced/stuffed with slug pellets or another toxic substance.

Several dogs have reportedly been hospitalised after walks in the area.

Please keep dogs on leads, stay vigilant, and watch closely for anything they may try to eat while out walking.

If you spot anything suspicious:
• Do not touch with bare hands
• Keep other walkers and dogs away
• Report it to the police and local council

• If your dog may have eaten something, contact a vet immediately
