Keeping Cool In the Heat 🌞
Temperatures are continuing to soar over the next few days and whilst us humans might be pleased to see the sunshine, our pets may not enjoy it as much.
❗️ Please do not walk your dogs in the heat, really early mornings seem to be cooler and the best time to gently exercise them ❗️
Keeping pets indoors, out of the direct sunlight and ensuring plenty of fresh drinking water is available at all times is essential. Moving small furries such as rabbits and Guinea pigs out of hutches or outdoor enclosures in direct sunlight is also a must, you can also offer them cold snacks, cool mats and shade to help keep their temperatures down.
Below are some pictures of our staff pets keeping cool in the sunny weather- we would love to see pictures of your pets as well and you can post them in the comments!

2. Veterinary Care Assistant Beth’s German Shepherd Ruby, being walked early morning through the well shaded woods
