This amazing lady is a UK radio presenter who is an avid equine lover. Know this is not completely horse related but she is a total inspiration having run 5 marathons in 5 days with a total of 135 miles covered in support of the UK’s charity Children In Need. "Hastilow & Sons have been brave enough to make a bespoke saddle for me, despite the difficult requirements presented to them.

Due to surgery following a bad accident, I was finding it almost impossible to lift my leg high enough to dismount. I needed a deep-seat dressage saddle with as low a cantle as possible, with one or two other ‘tweaks’ for my personal needs. Nikki from Hastilows was extremely sympathetic and encouraging. She liaised at length with my regular saddle fitter, Sam from RB Equestrian, who is also brilliant at her job. Neither had worked together before because of the difference in location. After a detailed template, photos, videos, measurements etc. were exchanged, it was decided to go ahead with the project.

The result has been amazing! I have a deep-seated saddle which encourages my seat into a classical position and allows my hips to separate. My horse is working very comfortably and happily and the cantle is surprisingly low, which I had doubted would be achievable. I can now dismount without getting ‘stuck’ on the cantle and look forward to riding for many years to come.

The quality of workmanship and attention to detail is amazing. The leather itself is soft and pliable and it is the only new saddle I have found, in my long riding career, which doesn’t need ‘wearing in’.

Altogether, the result is spectacular and better than I could have hoped for, given the difficult criteria, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart."

**Training Aids: Their use in Training, Management and Rehabilitation**

Multiple training aids are available for therapists and horse owners to use. When lunging is used as part of a training or rehabilitation programme, training aids are often fitted in the belief that they facilitate improved back and limb biomechanics, leading to the development of increased core strength and spinal stability, and in some instances may serve as a substitute for ridden exercise. This two-hour webinar will review the literature and present a series of evidence-based studies which have quantified the effect that training aids have on equine locomotion.
