We're sad that our two delivery drivers have made the decision to retire shortly. As a result, we're looking to recruit a couple of friendly, enthusiastic people who would like to do a day's driving each week . We deliver to the North East on a Wednesday and Cumbria on a Friday, and have done so for nearly 30 years, so you would need to be available on one of those days. This is a job that often doesn't feel like work as you'll be driving in some beautiful countryside. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing manner with good people skills as you will be the face of our business and meeting our customers. Given that some of the sacks are up to 25kg in weight, you will need to be physically fit. Experience of driving a van or larger vehicle would be desirable, and experience of driving in all weather conditions on rural roads is essential. If you have just retired from full time work and are looking for just a small job, this might be just the one for you! Call into the shop for a chat, or drop me a message.

Plenty more plants coming to the shop tomorrow. We have some really sturdy cucumber plants - Femspot or Pony, as well as courgettes, and few remaining tomato plants. There'll also be African Marigolds, Tagetes, Dahlias, Lobelia, and some tub and basket plants - Petchoa petunias, Bacopa, Verbena etc. You won't find mass-produced, chemically treated, bought in plants here! Everything is grown from scratch in top quality peat-free compost, just 5 miles from Haltwhistle. No fungicides, no bee-killing insecticides, just great looking plants!

Today, as well as various bedding plants growbags and compost, we will have cucumber and courgette plants. There are two different cucumbers - Femspot, and Pony. Both are looking great at the moment, so come and get some while stocks last!

We have a selection of plants at the shop today - all grown by me from seed, in peat free compost! No neonicotinoids, no fungicides, no growth regulators, no insecticides or other nasties are used! Today we have tomatoes, courgettes, petunias, parsley, dahlias, petchoa, bacopa, African marigolds, tagetes, and a few others. Next week we will have cucumber plants too. We STILL have no phone or broadband at the shop. I can access voicemails though, so leave a message WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER and I'll get back to you when I get 5 minutes.

Today we have courgette plants, African Marigolds, Tagetes, Dahlias, Petchoa (trailing petunias) Bacopa, Trailing Lobelia, parsley, and a few tomato plants. Still no phone line, so I won't have internet access either!

Apologies to anyone who may have tried to call us over the last couple of days. For some reason, BT has decided that we no longer require their service and has disconnected us (and yes, the bills are all up to date!) It may take some time for normal service to be resumed, but we'll know more on Monday.

We're open until 1pm today. We still have some tomato plants left. Most varieties have sold out, but we still have plenty Moneymaker, a few Sungrape and a handful of Sweet Aperitif. Our popular 'Blue Tit Cam' is up and running again, and some of the eggs have just hatched. Why not pop across and watch them on the screen by the counter?
