Roos Dog House Closed🚨

13/08/2025

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve had to write. After much thought, I’ve made the decision to close Roos dog house permanently.

This wasn’t an easy choice. Over the years, I’ve poured my heart, time, and energy into building something I truly believed in. But as many of you know, my health hasn’t been the best and has started to affect my abilities, meaning I am struggling to provide the service I once could.

I’m deeply grateful to every client, regular or one off, and friend who supported this journey. Your encouragement, loyalty, and kind words have meant more than you can imagine.

Thank you for being part of this journey. ❤️

Weather warning☀️

Just a note to my regular walkers! Tuesday & Wednesday is meant to reach temperatures over 21 degrees

If this is the case - walks will be changed to home visits 🐾

As always, your dogs safety & happiness is my number one concern. If you have any questions or concerns, please pop me a message🫶

Slaley show yesterday🏅🐾

Sully got 3rd place for male gundogs (Labradors)
Piper got 4th place for female gundogs (Labradors)

Then they had a lot of interest in the rabbits & Guinea pigs whilst Baz fussed over the ball python🫣🐍

Let’s chat about sleep💤

Why is sleep so important for dogs?
1. Physical Recovery
Sleep allows muscles, joints, and organs to repair, especially after exercise or play.

2. Brain Function & Memory
Just like humans, dogs process and store memories during sleep, which helps with training and learning commands.

3. Hormonal Balance & Growth
Puppies release growth hormones during deep sleep, which is crucial for healthy development.

4. Immune System Support
Rest strengthens their immune system, making them less susceptible to illness.

5. Behavioral Health
Sleep-deprived dogs can become anxious, irritable, or hyperactive, similar to sleep-deprived humans.

How much sleep should your dogs have?

Puppies: 18–20 hours a day because they’re growing and developing rapidly.
Adult dogs: Around 12–14 hours, depending on activity and health.
Senior dogs: 14–18 hours because their bodies recover more slowly.

A trio of perfect chaos - from left to right we have:

Roo - GWP / Belgian Malinois
Sully - Fox Red Labrador
Piper - Fox Red Labrador/ Rescue Girlie

If I had to choose just one single photo to edit (because sometimes I break my own 'rules' and edit additional sneak peeks) then it would 100% HAVE to be this one.

Symbolising the last shot of the entire photoshoot, this was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of shot considering Piper doesn't lie down or follow that command. The plan was to have all three standing, but they were knackered and decided to sit, but then.. Piper lay down and we all filled with excitement and rolled with it, so the challenge was getting Roo and Sully lying down beside her. We got the shot 👌🏼

Roo was a small distance apart, so I moved her closer to Sully with Photoshop wizardry ✨️
