With the hot weather looking to stay with us, please be concious of how your pets are coping in this heat.

Always have plenty of water and shade available for them, and please remember to walk them at either dawn or dusk. Heat stroke can be entirely prevented, please don’t make your pets go through it unnecessarily.

Today at the Royal Exchange in Hartpury! It’s sure to be a fun filled day, and the sun is shining!!

Here it is!! The official poster for Paws in the Pub 2026!!

Please note as in previous years it’s CASH only so come prepared!

If you want to purchase 4 classes for £10, you can’t, for example, purchase 2 classes then come back and purchase 2 more. The 4 classes need to be purchased together.

Note, the first class is HANDSOME MALE so make sure you get to register as soon as possible before the class starts. Registration opens at 12 noon, 30 minutes before the first class and registration will remain open throughout the show until the end.

I suggest you take a screen shot of this poster so you know what classes you want to enter before you register so as not to hold up the queue.

The way it works…. You will be given a number for each dog you enter. You need to pin the number on you before you go into the ring. No number, no entry. The number you are given is your number for the day. If you have more than one dog you’ll be given another number, one for each dog entered. If you enter more than one dog in the same class you need to wear both numbers into the ring.

You will be given a token for each class entered so if you’ve entered 4 classes you get 4 tokens. You hand in the token on entry into the class.

You can enter whatever class you choose but here’s the great bit! You can change you mind!! The token is for any class. so, for example, if you enter most appealing eyes but then change your mind and want to enter another class you can do that.

Waggiest Tail/Happiest dog…. Yes, we want waggy tails but if a dog shows another way of being happy other than wagging their tail, then that’s good and we will look at the dog as a whole to determine if they are happy. It could be that your dog doesn’t have much of a tail but they wiggle their bottom or smile! Maybe they wag their tail, wiggle their bum and smile!! Or maybe they spin when they’re happy….. 😃

May is Veterinary Nurse Awareness month!

We have 2 registered nurses Meg and Emma.

They are the ladies who look after your pets during their stay with us. They make sure your pets are well cared for before, during and after your pets procedure, along with many other jobs! They each have an abundance of knowledge they bring to the practice.

We would be absolutely lost without them!

Please go along to the annual Paws in the Pub - Gloucestershire dog show held at the Royal Exchange in Hartpury. A fantastic day out with your dogs! All in aid of a fantastic cause!

⚠️ Important Pet Travel Update for UK Owners ⚠️
New rules have come into force from today 22nd April - for anyone travelling with pets from Great Britain to the EU.
EU issued pet passports will no longer be valid for GB residents, even if they were issued prior to 22 April 2026.
Unless you are permanently resident in the EU, you will now need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for each trip to the EU.
