With the hot weather expected over the next few weeks, all walks will be adapted to keep the dogs safe & comfortable.
This may include:
🐶 Shorter walks & more garden play
🐶 Earlier/later time slots
🐶 Enrichment visits instead of walks if ground is too hot
🐶 Extra water, shade & cool-down breaks
🐶 I also have car fans for road trips

🥵Hot Weather & Dogs 🥵

~ From the next week it’s going to get HOT!

❗ Dogs die from heatstroke, never from missing walks
🐶 Walk early morning or late evening
🌳 Stick to shade, grass & cooler areas
🔥 Avoid hot pavements (do the hand test)
💧 Always take water
🚗 NEVER leave dogs in hot cars or poorly ventilated spaces
🧊 Use cool coats and cool mats

~ Signs of heatstroke include:
🥵 Excessive panting
🥵 Drooling
🥵 Lethargy
🥵 Vomiting/diarrhoea
🥵 Collapse or confusion

🆘 If you suspect heatstroke:
➡️ Move your dog somewhere shaded
➡️ Use COOL water on a towel to cool them
➡️ Create airflow with a fan/breeze
➡️ Contact your vet ASAP

Please be sensible in the heat - enrichment at home is always safer than risking heatstroke 💜 🐾
