🐣 Easter dangers for pets - what to watch out for 🐾

As lovely as Easter is, there are a few hidden dangers around the home that can be very harmful to our pets. Here are some of the most common risks to keep in mind:

🍫 Chocolate
Chocolate contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and cats. Even small amounts can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, restlessness, and in severe cases, seizures.

🥚 Plastic eggs
These may seem harmless, but they can easily be chewed and swallowed, leading to choking or serious blockages that may require emergency treatment.

🌼 Daffodils
A popular spring flower, but highly toxic to pets. Eating any part of the plant (especially the bulb) can cause vomiting, drooling, and stomach upset.

🍇 Raisins
Raisins (and grapes) are extremely toxic to dogs and can lead to kidney failure, even in small quantities. Avoid hot cross buns and other baked treats containing them.

If you’re ever worried your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t, contact your vet immediately.
