As the weather warms up, wildlife can really struggle to find fresh water 💧

Leaving out a shallow dish of clean water in your garden can make a huge difference for birds, hedgehogs, and other small animals. Make sure it’s topped up daily and, if you can, add a few stones so smaller creatures can climb in and out safely.🌿

🐾 Meet Wilbur – a cheeky, food-loving explorer looking for his forever home! 🐾

Wilbur is a handsome 4-year-old Domestic Short Hair with a big personality and an even bigger love of food! This adventurous boy enjoys exploring the outdoors, lounging with his cardboard scratching mat, and, of course, enjoying plenty of tasty treats.

Wilbur is looking for an experienced cat owner who understands that he needs time and space to settle in. He can become frustrated if he feels overwhelmed, so he’s searching for someone who will respect his boundaries and let him build confidence at his own pace.

🏡 Wilbur’s ideal home:
🐱 Adult-only household
🚫 No other pets
🌳 Safe outdoor access to explore
❤️ Patient and understanding owner

Wilbur is hoping for a calm, quiet home where he can relax, explore, and enjoy all the attention for himself.

Could you be the person Wilbur has been waiting for? Apply for Wilbur by completing our online form: 🔗 https://wadars.co.uk/cat-adoption/ 🔗

😸📦Are you a cat owner who is soon to be moving house? Here`s some advice to help in this potentially stressful transition:

Cats are creatures of habit, so all the new smells, sounds and surroundings can feel overwhelming. Keeping them safe and reducing stress is key to helping them settle in smoothly.

Before the move, keep your cat in a quiet room while packing is underway, with their usual bed, toys and litter tray. On moving day, transport them securely in a carrier and set them up in one calm room at your new home with familiar items to help them feel safe.

Once they’ve settled, gradually introduce them to the rest of the house. Try to keep feeding times and routines the same, and give them plenty of reassurance and patience as they adjust.

Try to keep you cat inside for at least a few weeks until they’re fully settled, to reduce the risk of them trying to return to their old home. 💛

🐦‍⬛🏠We often receive calls from members of the public who have a bird in their home. Here`s some advice on what you can do:

If a bird has found its way into your property, the first step is to darken the room that it is in, leaving only an ‘exit route’ illuminated. For example, open one window as wide as possible and draw the curtains on any other windows/doors, leaving only the window with the light coming in visible.

Nine times out of ten the bird will see the light or feel the air coming in through the window and make its own way out. It is important to leave the room for a while so as not to frighten the bird.

If you are still unable to get the bird out then contact Wadars on 01903 247111 and where possible we will ask a member of our Animal Welfare Team to come and take a look.🐾
