These 17 week old hens are down from 700 to last 150 . They are into everything now people , they need to move on. Can't even have a brew without one mugging me for my digestive. Blacktails ,barred rocks , Sussex, leghorns all hit their top price of £17 and darker egg marans at £30

FEMALE ducklings from the fertility test first incubation. Mostly Indian runners , can't guarantee there's no Cayuga x Welsh harlequins (it was lockdown, things happen behind closed doors what can I say) only 2 weeks old , can come off heat if kept in the house for another couple of weeks. £10

2026 season underway , must me be a good one - not one chick death out of this first batch of 600, which is a bit weird in reality. Industry standard is 3%, we aim for 1%. Tough little buggers, but there again they do drink Rhondda spring water ! These girls are under heat now. If you want youngsters off heat that can go into a sheltered external space , I'd suggest waiting until end of January when they will be 8 weeks old. If you want to rear your own sexed chicks in a brooder , next sexed day olds of mixed coloured hybrids will probably be late January. Wholesale orders (over 100) require 4 weeks notice - so now basically 😆

The end of another great season is upon us. HUGE thank you to all that have visited us during 2025. People have been asking about why we shut up shop in October until the new year. So heres the deal ......

Our biosecurity means we want a 10 week break in accomodating livestock between then and recieving sexed chicks in December.

The hatcheries we buy from and our own micro hatchery has an earlier shutdown in July / August to sterilise the incubators. So there's a break in supply from then to September anyway. As a grower that break is just later.

We know there will probably be cluckdowns in November when Avian flu peaks with migrating birds and we much prefer to free range rear which is largely unique to us as a grower and produces trouble free , hardier, socialised , calmer birds.

The demand tapers off as the weather turns and people think about Christmas.

It's not unusual to have a few birds remaining , Atm I have a few young Welsh harlequin ducks still for sale , we just host them in a new temp setup.

So thank you all again , the money we made in 2025 is mostly going on upgrading the pure breed pens that need all new fencing and upgrading to the houses and makers by new tracks to help fight grass fires like we had in April this year having had fire engines getting stuck !
