🐾 Keeping Your Pups Cool & Safe in the Heatwave! ☀️🐕
As you know, it is absolutely scorching outside right now. I want to reassure all of my wonderful clients and followers that your dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being are my absolute top priorities.
I am closely monitoring the weather and taking extra precautions in the salon to ensure the risk of heat stroke is kept to an absolute minimum. Here is what I’m doing to keep your fur babies safe and cool during their spa day:
🌡️ I am strictly monitoring the salon’s internal temperature to ensure it stays a comfortable environment.
💧 Fresh, chilled water is available at all times, and I am giving every dog frequent, mandatory water breaks throughout their groom.
💨 Cooler Drying, I am limiting the use of the stand dryer (which generates extra heat). Instead, I’ll be using the velocity dryer on a cool air setting. Please note: This keeps your pup much cooler, but it means drying might take a little longer than usual!
🛋️ Dogs will be given extra time to rest and chill out between grooming steps so they don’t get overworked or stressed by the heat.
🐾 Paw Pad Protection: I'm keeping a close eye on the ground temperature outside the salon door so no sensitive paws get burned coming or going.
How you can help:
🚗 If you have an appointment coming up, please try to cool down your car before putting your dog inside for the drive over, and arrive at the time of your appointment to save waiting around in the heat.
💩 Ensure your dog has had a toilet break before arriving but do not exercise/run your dog before the appointment.
If your dog is elderly, brachycephalic (flat-faced breeds like Pugs or Frenchies), or has underlying health conditions, please let me know so we can take even more specific precautions.
If I believe your appointment would be better off rescheduled I will get in touch as soon as possible.
