We provide continuity of care - we aim that you will see the same vet for check-ups and we give honest, open recommendations which suit your individual needs and budget. Our practice is well equipped to do most tests, treatments and surgery on

site, providing quick appointments and results, to give you peace of mind. We can also advise on a full network of referral services, if your pet needs specialist care. While the air temperature might seem bearable, remember that the pavement can be scorching hot for our furry friends' paws ☀️🐾

⚠️If you can't hold the back of your hand to the pavement for 5-7 seconds, it's too hot for your dog's delicate paws.

Protecting your pet's paws is key during the summer months. Opt for walks during cooler times of the day and stick to grassy areas where possible. 🏞️

It’s going to be a warm one this week - how you deal with a dog suffering from heatstroke ‼️

☀️Quickly soak your pet in very cold water and get them to the vets!
☀️If you only have soft drinks, ensure they don't contain xylitol, and avoid pouring them on the dog's head.
☀️Wetting the dog will promote cooling through evaporation. Do this before taking them to the vet but don't spend too much time on it.
☀️Contact the vet and inform them about the situation and how long it will take you to arrive. This allows the vet's team to prepare for your dog's arrival and increases their chances of receiving prompt treatment.
☀️Avoid using wet towels on the dog as they can trap heat. However, specialised cooling vests that function through evaporation are suitable.

Look out for signs of fatigue, loss of appetite, or a change in your pets behaviour.

If you spot any of these symptoms, seek advice from us as soon as possible! 🐱🐶
