☀️ Hot Weather Pet Safety Alert from West Edinburgh Vets ☀️

The temperatures are rising this week, and while we enjoy the sunshine, our pets can quickly become vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.

🐾 Make sure your pets have constant access to fresh water
🐾 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening
🐾 Avoid hot pavements that can burn paws
🐾 Never leave pets in parked cars, even for a few minutes
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or collapse

If you’re concerned about your pet during the hot weather, don’t hesitate to contact our team for advice.

Our online booking system is now live!

Simply head to our website, click 'book an appointment', register your details, and find a time that suits you 🐾

This means you can book in your pets whenever they need it, even when we are closed.

You can also choose which vet to see, ensuring that all important continuity of care.

Home visits with our nurses can also be hooked through this system 🩺

We're proud to be consistently evolving, to give you and your pets the very best care! 💗

What a wonderful month it’s been! From wagging tails and playful kittens to brave check-ups and happy recoveries, May has been full of special moments with our amazing patients and their families. 💙🐶🐱

Shirley is at the heart of keeping everything running smoothly as our Practice Manager 🏥💛

Since leaving school, she’s dedicated her career to caring for animals, now bringing that same compassion and understanding into the day-to-day running of the practice.

Outside of work, her love for animals continues, and you’ll often find her spending time with her horses and dogs 🐎

We’re so lucky to have her as part of our team at West Edinburgh Vets 🐾
