Borders Pet Rescue BORDERS PET RESCUE: because animals matter. We are a small, independent animal rescue charity based in the Scottish Borders, in operation since 1988.

We rely on public donations to help us find suitable loving homes for abandoned and unwanted pets. Borders Pet Rescue take in dogs, cats, small animals & Exotics that are no longer able to be looked after in their present homes for whatever reason. We receive no funding and rely totally on donations from the public to fund our work.

Some things are simply meant to be together… tea and toast, fish and chips, gin and tonic… and Tea & Toast! 😂

These two semi-feral characters are together ALL the time — because, quite frankly, you can’t have one without the other! ❤️

And what better life for this inseparable pair than to wonder around rural grounds, enjoying the fresh country air, plenty of space to explore and a peaceful life away from the hustle and bustle of urban living.

No traffic jams, no city noise, no busy streets… just Tea, Toast and a whole lot of countryside!

We’ve been lucky enough to have the wonderful TD1 Youth Hub team spend their time transforming our rather plain fence into something bright, colourful and full of personality! 💛

With portraits painted in lots of different styles, they’ve created a really special piece of artwork that brings so much colour and happiness to the centre. 🐶🐱🌈

We honestly can’t thank you all enough for the time, creativity, hard work and enthusiasm you put into this project. It was lovely to see you giving up your time, working together and putting so much care into every single portrait. ❤️

🌈 Somewhere over the rainbow… we found seven tiny pots of gold! 🌈

Meet Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Purple – seven colourful little characters, each with a personality as bright as their name. 🐱💜

Who says you can’t catch a rainbow? 🌈✨

These little bursts of sunshine are ready to bring colour, chaos, cuddles and plenty of happiness into someone’s life. ☀️🐾❤️

Two event parking sites are being provided by Earlston RFC and Borders Pet Rescue at £5/car.
Please follow the event parking signage.
Spectators are asked not to park in residential areas of Earlston to avoid congestion and impact on local residents.

This Friday, we’ll be heading to the Scottish Borders Business Excellence Awards 2026, where we’re incredibly proud to be shortlisted for the Community Impact Award! 🥹🐾

The awards, organised by the Scottish Borders Chamber of Commerce, celebrate the incredible businesses and organisations making a difference across our community — so to be included among this year’s finalists is a huge honour. ❤️

We’re so very proud to be involved, and we honestly cannot thank our amazing supporters enough. Every donation, share, volunteer hour, kind word and show of support helps us continue changing the lives of animals who need us. 🐾

Mackay is a sweet and affectionate Greyhound with bags of personality! 🥰

He loves people, loves to play and can often be found proudly carrying his toys around before finding a cosy spot to stretch out and relax. 🧸🛏️

He’s gentle, friendly and full of fun, enjoying his walks, meeting other dogs and exploring new places.
