Potters World is a Visitor attraction located in Lanchester Garden Centre. It's a registered zoo home to free flying birds, reptiles, inverts and fish.

With beautiful Birds of Prey aviaries and a large play area its a great day out for all the family. Accessible for all, disabled toilets, baby change, seating around the zoo.

Do you love owls as much as we do? You should come to Potter’s world and visit our Owl Adventures - at 2:30pm we have an owl talk and feeding where you can learn lots about our resident species! ✨🦉

Doesn’t Eric look gorgeous in the sunlight? 🐍☀️
Our Boa Imperator Eric was posing in the sun and we had to snap some shots!
Did you know that these snakes are typically nocturnal, meaning they’ll be out hunting at night, and they have specialised heat-sensing scales which allows them to find prey, even in darkness! 🐍🌙

How adorable are these colourful Lovebirds snuggling in a tree in our Tropical Village! 🦜✨
Did you know that Lovebirds got their name from their extreme shows of affection! They form strong bonds with one another, spending lots of time with eachother, cuddled up close and preening - they are even seen to miss their mate when they are apart! ❤️🦜

Pascal our Veiled Chameleon has had an enclosure revamp and he’s loving it! He loves to climb up high and bask under his UV lamp! 🦎✨
Did you know chameleons like Pascal can move their eyes independently, meaning they can be looking in two different directions at once! 👀

🎉We would like to wish keeper Linda a MASSIVE Happy 30th Birthday!!🎉

Linda has worked here in Potter’s World since she was 21, she’s a big part of the team and a very loyal member of staff! She often jokes and says she will retire on the deli counter when she can’t hack the zoo anymore😂

She knows our animals inside and out and shows love and dedication everyday, we would be lost without her, enjoy every second of celebrating 🥳 ❤️

National Zoo Keeper Week is coming to an end! 🐸🐢🦎🦉🦜🐍
But of course we could finish off the week without showing lots of appreciation for our Zoo Keepers of the future!
Our volunteers work so hard to help us keep Potter’s world running, they help to care for our animals, help us keep it clean and show the animals lots of love - we couldn’t be more grateful! 🩷
A big shoutout to Amy, Evie, Katie, Eleanor, Eve, Charlotte, Katy-Ann, Brianna, Katy and Kirsten for coming in throughout the week and working super hard! 🐢✨

What time is it? It’s National Zoo Keeper week time! 🐍🦜🐸🦎🐢🦉
Today we are celebrating Keeper Jamie! You’ll often see Jamie working hard over in however he also works super hard as a Keeper with us at Potter’s World! Jamie loves to work with the reptiles and makes sure they are getting everything they need, including lots of love and care!🦎✨
Jamie’s favourite animal is Spartacus our Blue Tongue Skink, and I mean what a choice! His blue tongue is awesome! 💙

It’s time to celebrate another keeper for Zoo Keeper Week! 🐍🐢🐸🦎🦜🦉
Today we are showing lots of appreciation for Keeper Lauren! Lauren is currently doing a degree but when she isn’t working hard studying, she’s working hard to look after every single one of our animals here at Potter’s world! Lauren loves to work on all of the sections showing all the animals lots of love and care! 🐸✨
Lauren’s favourite is Rocky our Ball Python, he’s super chill and has such pretty colouration!

It’s National Zoo Keeper Week day 4! 🦜🐍🐢🦉🐸🦎
Today we are appreciating Keeper Izzy! She is is our resident owl keeper and spends lots of time caring for and training our owls, you might catch her out and about with one of them! You’ll also find her looking after the reptiles and the rest of our collection, she loves all of them and works hard to care for them!✨🦉
Izzy’s favourite animal in our collection is Axel our Great Grey Owl, and we think that’s a great choice, I mean isn’t she cute?🩷

Another day, another keeper for National Zoo Keeper Week! 🐢🦎🦜🐍🐸🦉
Today we are showing lots of love and appreciation for keeper Linda! She is our tropical bird super star and puts so much hard work and care into looking after every single one! 🌟🦜
As well as being an incredible keeper, Linda also helps to keeper Potters world, and the rest of the store, super clean! 🧼
Linda’s favourite is Lola our Cockatoo, and they have a very special bond, they share lots of cuddles, kisses and love everyday! 🤍
