Brown Street Kennels

Brown Street Kennels We're here to help re-home dogs to their forever home and reunite stray dogs. Our page is monitored during weekday opening hours.

With a team of dedicated animal lovers all dogs in our care are given VIP treatment. Visiting is by appointment only. If you are looking for a dog as a pet, then Brown Street Kennels (which is part of the Council’s Animal Control Section) may have the perfect canine pal for you. Every year about 250 dogs are successfully re-homed from the kennels. Most of the dogs have been brought to the kennels

by their owners because they are no longer able to look after them. Prospective new owners are assessed to ensure they are responsible people able to give the animals the attention they deserve. A charge is made to cover kennel costs. This is subjective to change and should be discussed with the kennel staff. All dogs re-homed from Brown Street Kennels are microchipped.

⬇️Rehoming Appeal⬇️

🐾Percy, Cross Labrador, Male, Approximately 6 to 8 Years Old, Black & White, Medium, Short Haired.

Percy was found straying in Fife and nobody claimed him😢. The staff have given him the name Percy and he is now looking for a loving new family.🥹

He is a timid boy but soon comes out his shell once he gets to know you. He loves to play and enjoys a bath. 🛁 😊

Percy may be suitable to homes with dogs but assessments would be carried out at appointments. He can be homed to families with children over the age of 10 years old. He can't be homed with cats. 🐶 1️⃣0️⃣➕

He may require some training as he can be strong on the lead. Percy keeps his kennel clean so we believe he is house trained.

If you think you can offer Percy a forever loving home please contact us by phone on 01382 432100 📞 for more information and appointments.

👋All The Best Lirit👋

Lirit has been volunteering with us for just over a year whilst studying in Dundee. Now that she has graduated she is sadly having to leave us to begin the next chapter of her life. 🥹

Lirit was very devoted to the dogs and often came in extra days to help cover other walkers. She had a particular favourite dog to walk, a lurcher called Flynn who found his new home in January. 🏡 🤗

Lirit says her highlight of being in Dundee has been getting the chance to walk all the different dogs whilst they waited on their forever homes. 🐾

We wish you all the best in the future and hope that you visit if you are ever back in Dundee. 👋

🎉Update - Rexi is off to her forever home! She is one happy doggy!

⬇️Rehoming Appeal⬇️

Rexi is looking for a new home after her owner sadly passed away.😢

She is a sweet girl who is looking for an active family that can give her the exercise and future training she needs.🤗

🐾 She is submissive and good at introducing herself to dogs, so will be suitable with most other dogs.
Rexi can be homed to families with children over the age of 5 years old but won't be suitable for homes with cats.

If you think you can mend her broken heart and give her the life she deserves, please call us on 01382 432100 for more information and appointments. 📞

🐶 Rexi, Cross Breed, Female, Approximately 14 Months Old, Dark Brown/Black and White, Medium, Short Hair

📣Are you interested in becoming a Brown Street Kennels Volunteer?

We have some spaces available to join our fabulous team of Dog Walkers. 🤗

👀We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and experienced individuals that can dedicate one morning per week to walk our dogs. Dog walking is Monday to Saturday at 09:00am and Sundays at 10:45am. Successful applicants would be given a fixed day each week. Only one dog is walked at a time and we ask that you spend a minimum of one-hour walking.
Our dogs vary in breed, size and temperament, so it is important that volunteers are also confident in handling challenging behaviours on their own.

🤔If you would like to volunteer with us and are over the age of 18 years old, please fill out the application form on our website and return it to us to review.

🐾Applications are open until the 31st May 2026.🐾

❗️We expect to receive a high number of applications so we may not manage to get back to everyone❗️
