🚨 Join the Generator Projects Board of Trustees ! 🚨

We’re looking for passionate individuals to help lead Generator Projects into an exciting new chapter. With the multi-year funding secured and our 30th anniversary approaching next year, this is a unique chance to shape the future of our artist-run initiative.

Founded in 1996, Generator has been a collaborative platform for experimental and emerging artists for nearly 30 years. As a Trustee, you’ll play a vital role in guiding our mission, supporting our members, and ensuring our values of inclusivity, creativity, and community are upheld !

We welcome applications from people with lived experience, local knowledge, or strong networks in Dundee/Scotland—and especially from those underrepresented in the arts, including Global Majority, LGBTQ+, Trans, (Dis)abled, and Working Class communities.

WE ARE RECRUITING FOR TRUSTEES / CO-OPTED TREASURER

We’re keen to hear from those with skills or experience in:
– Strategic thinking & decision-making
– Social justice, grassroots organising & community building
– Contemporary art & Artist Run Initiatives
– Communications & public engagement
– Charity governance, law & financial management (Treasurer)

As part of the Board, you’ll:
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight
- Champion Generator within your networks
- Attend quarterly meetings & our AGM
- Ensure the charity meets its aims with care and diligence

⭐️MARKER - SWCN X GENERATOR PUBLICATION LAUNCH EVENT⭐️

We’re super buzzing to share with you the brand new Scottish Working Class Network x Generator Projects publication ‘MARKER’

This publication features writing and works by Katie McGroarty, Dan J Nawaz, Rebecca Laverty & Samantha Dick ⭐️

Come join us for the launch of the publication on August 9th at Generator from 2-6pm and grab a free copy 🤩

To mark the launch of the publication, the featured artists will be doing readings/presentations of their works or similar pieces which relate to their practice.

The event is free to attend and open to all!

Up Next: They Had Four Years 2025

Launched in the early 2000s, They Had Four Years (TH4Y) is Generator’s annual flagship recent graduate show and aims to support artists with the continuation and development of their practice after leaving art school.

This year’s exhibiting artists are: Edward Cawood, Olivia Margaret Frances, Jungyoon Im, Theodora Koumbouzis and Kristína Gondová.

TH4Y opens Saturday 17th May from 6-9pm and then continues Thursday-Sunday 12-5pm until June 22nd. Get excited!

Thank you SOOOOOO much to everyone who came along to the opening of An Invitation to Drift last Saturday night, it was such a dreamy, chill and lovely spring night and we’re still feeling the dreaminess of it all a week later ⭐️

We want to give Kem & Martha a massive congratulations on such a beautiful show - the work is so stellar and we have loved working with you both💌⭐️

Thank you SOOOOOOO much to everyone who came along to the opening of the members show! It was such a special evening of joy, celebration and love and we want to give a massive thank you to our members and community for consistently supporting us - THANK YOU! 💗

This years members show was a massive success with over 200+ artworks and over 230 visitors on the opening night - we’re still feeling the buzz almost a week later!

The members show fun isn’t over just yet, we have our performance night coming tomorrow night from 6-9pm!

📣 Generator is overjoyed to announce we have been successful in our bid for Multi-Year Funding, announced this morning by Creative Scotland ! ⭐️

This incredible support marks a pivotal moment for Generator, ensuring stability for our ambition to champion artist-led activity in Dundee and across Scotland! As a grassroots, non-hierarchal organisation, this funding secures our ability to nurture emerging/ re-emerging artists through our programming and membership, strengthening the community of artists and creatives in Dundee and wider areas!

We want to say a massive thank you and congratulations to all members, associates, past committee, board members and all those who have come in contact with Generator throughout the last 28 years! Your involvement has allowed Generator to grow to the strength it is today! ✨

We are delighted to be joining the portfolio alongside a record-breaking 141 new organisations and look forward to the opportunities this brings for the wider cultural landscape in Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️
