If your pet has lapsed on their vaccinations then before they can go to the cattery/kennels they might need a primary course again 💉. This can take up to 4 weeks to complete, so make sure there is enough time before you set sail on your holidays! ✈️⛵🚗

We have already had two injured hedgehogs in the practice this year. 😢

Our spikey little friends are waking up! 🦔

As the weather has warmed and the sun is shining (not that these guys enjoy the sun), our favourite mammal is waking up from their long winter slumber and they have one thing on their mind, well, ok, maybe two: food and romance, possibly the other way around, depending on the hog. But, as we saw our first hoglets arrive in early May last year, we want to give you plenty of warning to, please, take 5 minutes (or longer) to check your garden thoroughly before dusting off those garden tools.

Additionally, this season can often lead to perfectly healthy animals being picked up and brought to us; please, always make sure you observe the animal before touching them and contact your local wildlife rescue before swooping in to 'rescue' them. Obviously, if they look lethargic, injured or are in immediate danger, please do be a hero and place them into a warm secure box and contact us, or any of the other 600 wildlife rescues listed in the UK!

The beautiful Merrie on the left hand side, has been in with her sister for a post op check tonight. Her wound is looking fabulous and mum is very happy with her progress as we are aswell.

Our March Braveheart goes to Baxter. He wasn't very well at Christmas whilst away on holiday. Mum has nurses him back to health and now Baxter is fighting fit again!

This week with some lost cats has shown the benefits of microchipping. We have been able to reunite both patient and owner together within an hour of being brought into the surgery.

If you aren't sure if your cat has been chipped, book a free appointment with a nurse to scan and check.

With some lovely sunshine ☀️ forecast for the next 2 days, just be mindful our dogs aren't used to warm temperatures quite just yet!

With some long coated dogs still not quite shed their winter coats yet and Brachycephalic breeds also not very good in the warm weather.

Please make sure they are not sunbathing too much! Offer lots of water and plenty of shade.
