We love reading happy posts, full of love and fluffy kitty pictures. Oh how amazing it must be to be a breeder! Well thats just one side, the side that everyone see's. The other side is full of heartache and exhaustion and anxiety.
You don't always see the breeder that can spend weeks getting up every few hours to feed the baby's she promised to love and protect, then continuing with daily routines including work. You don't see the tears when a baby doesnt make it and the blame they put on themselves even though that blame is wrongly placed. You don't see the breeder staying up all night with their pregnant queen because you can just feel that she needs you. You don't see the breeder rushing to an out of hours vets in the middle of the night because something just isn't right, and you don't feel the anxiety and worry when they tell you your baby may need surgery and then be sent home without them.
ALL of this happens.
Blossom my darling girl gave birth on Thursday, the birth did not go as planned, after she did not seem interested in the 2 live babies she had birthed, and relied on us to keep them fed. Unfortunately one little girl did not make it. Then come Saturday night Blossom went back into labour, something that can happen but not experienced my self. It was clear something was not right and she was in pain so off to vets at 1am.
Thankfully no surgery was needed and i was able to collect her 2 hours later.
Blossom has now after a few days settled into her mum role with her one little precious boy 🥰 and now I can sleep 😴
