WHAT IS THE BIT LIFTER FOR?
The Bit Lifter is proving very popular for resolving some bitting issues. It supports the bit from the noseband, reducing the weight of the metalwork on the tongue and helping to prevent the tongue from getting over the bit. It also prevents pressures on the bars or the pre-molar teeth.
The anatomical bridle does not have straps closing the jaws, which can cause resistance in some animals. Without the restriction of a tight jaw strap, some animals respond by maintaining better relaxation through the jaw, reducing tension and resistance.
Furthermore, the bridle helps the rider to not interfere with the horse's mouth as there are no cheek pieces. The lever is moved from the mouth to the thicker nose bone. The only pull is from the reins that buckle to the bit.
Many pony riders use this anatomical bridle on mouthy ponies, and young riders tend to use their hands too much, which can create tension and cause the pony to become unruly.
