We desperately need your help to find a foster family for beautiful Odin 🙏

This is one of the hardest posts we have ever written 💔 We were contacted last week by a local vets asking us to help a dog that was about to be euthanised. In Odin’s short 1 year life he has had 4 homes.

Unfortunately, the home he was first sold to didn’t give him a chance. He wasn’t socialised and he didn’t receive proper care. He wasn't loved.

Odin was returned to the breeder, to be sold again to someone else. This time, he was in his new home a few days when he was physically abused for stealing a tea towel. He was returned back to the breeder again. He has been passed around 4 times now.

As a result of this stressful back and forth, and having no chance to settle, Odin has developed some resource guarding behaviours. The breeder contacted other rescues, but they are all full. Like most other rescues, we are full too. But we couldn’t say no and take away this young boy’s chance at a good life. We had to give him a chance.

We managed to get him into foster, however the foster leaves to go on holiday next Thursday. And we URGENTLY need to find Odin a new foster family.

He is a loving dog 80% of the time, but strongly resource guards the rest of the time. We are in desperate need of an experienced foster with no children. Someone who has patience to help Odin settle and become the wonderful dog we believe he can be.

He’s a large, loveable labrador, 45kg boy who is well trained with the basics (sitting, lying down, recall) but can get overexcited.

PLEASE can you help to give Odin a chance and find him a foster family ❤️

If you’re unable to foster please, please share this post.

We will offer full behaviourist support and everything you need. We want Odin to know that not all humans are bad!

Please send us a message or email ([email protected]) with your contact details and an overview of your experience with dogs.

Thank you so much for your continued support 🙏

Well what a year 2020 has been!
Debs & I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for their continued loyalty & support throughout this incredibly challenging year!

I think we’ve all nailed the new handover procedures & you’ve all become experts with a slip lead 😂

Sadly my butt doesn’t seem to have shrunk with the continuous running up and down the garden, but I’m confident I’m getting my 10k steps a day 🥴

Your generosity with tips, gifts & cards has been utterly amazing & we sincerely thank you all xx

We hope your gorgeous pooches are looking fabulous & smelling lush in preparation for Santa’s visit this evening (only if they’ve been good) 🤣

We feel truly blessed to have such wonderful clients and to have had your continued patience and support throughout this challenging year 🐾
Please all stay safe & we look forward to seeing you all again in 2021 🥂
Big kisses Claire & Deb ###

Dear clients and visitors to my page, with the weather getting into the 20’s I just wanted to address any concerns and advise on clipping dogs because you think they are hot.

Dogs fur acts like a thermal regulator to slow down the process of heat absorption. The less sun and heat that reaches the dogs skin, the less hot the dog will be. Imagine the dogs fur as a sun parasol, it protects you from the heat and keeps you cool.

Now if you shave the dogs fur off you are taking away that protection and exposing the dog to direct heat and taking their ability to regulate away.

Owners understandably worry that their dog is panting too much and therefore must be hot. Dogs expel heat from their body's by panting and it is as normal as humans sweating.

The most important thing you can do for you dog right now is to keep them thoroughly brushed, allow them access to plenty of water and shade.

By brushing your dog you open and separate the coat/hairs allowing for good air flow through the coat. This will make the dog feel like it has gone from wearing a fleece jacket to a light summer dress or linen shirt for the gents !

I really hope this helps owners that are worried about grooming appointments.

Please feel free to ask me any questions or if your dog is groomed by a fellow groomer then please ask them they should be more than happy to advise you, as they know you and your dog and work so hard every time your pooch visits them.

Please support us all in this difficult times and rest assured we will do our very best to welcome you back just as soon as it is considered safe to do so.

Stay home, stay safe
Claire xx
