Tom Mitchell Equine Behaviour

Tom Mitchell Equine Behaviour Tom set up Tom Mitchell Equine Behaviour back in 2016. Having spent a number of years training with Tom is both a talented trainer and teacher.

Combining his knowledge gained whilst working with Jason at Australian horse training with his own successful ridden career, Tom is able to help horse owners of all abilities and disciplines. Coming from a strong hunting background and growing up in the countryside of Suffolk, Tom made his way through the levels, from pony club to eventing. It was during these years that Tom realised his passion f

or riding and training young horses, seeing them develop and go on to excel in their ridden careers. Tom continued down the route of training horses and began working at Australian horse training with Jason where he gained more experience and several coaching qualifications. It was during this time that Tom discovered what really made him tick, helping others to achieve by supporting them in training and developing themselves and their horses. Having settled in Kent with his wife a baby daughter, Tom continues to grow his business ‘TM Equine’ alongside Your Horsemanship. He now visits owners in their own environment to tackle any confidence, ridden, groundwork and loading problems. Jason and Tom have also realised the benefit of supporting the continued education for both horse and rider, following a stay at the Training centre once they have returned home. In addition to supporting people through the online Your Horsemanship programme.

Lovely review from Dereks owner 🤩
Thank you for all your work with Derek. It's been a successful weekend despite the weather. A session in the school Saturday with some decent trot, and a tiny hack on his own on Sunday including going through the flooded driveway to get back home. Great progress. He is just what I wanted. He really does match his name now. Thank you. Onwards and upwards.

As 2025 draws to a close, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a fantastic year for TM Equine.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve been lucky to welcome back many familiar faces as well as new clients, and we’re truly grateful for the continued trust and support from every one of you.

This year as always, Tom has worked closely alongside other equine professionals to help horses and riders achieve the best possible outcomes. A key part of our approach is ensuring that behavioural issues are never pain related, which is why maintaining strong working relationships with our vets, farrier, dentist etc remains so important to us. This team approach allows us to look at the whole horse and address problems thoroughly and ethically.

2025 has seen an incredible variety of horses through the yard; from future Olympic prospects to much loved Shetlands!! Every horse, regardless of size or level, receives the same care, attention and commitment.

As we head into 2026, we’d like to wish all of our clients a happy, healthy and prosperous year ahead. Whatever your goals may be, whether that’s enjoying relaxed hacks with friends or competing at Grand Prix dressage! We hope 2026 is the year you achieve them.

Thank you for being part of the TM Equine journey and Happy New Year to you all.
