These trenches may not look very aesthetically pleasing, but they’ll help to keep our fields healthier and drier through the wetter months ahead.

The grass will grow back over the top and the sheep will be none the wiser! 🐑

📍Maam Road Circular

A lovely old drovers route with beautiful views, although quite boggy in one small section! It can also include the Melville Monument, but we decided to leave this for another route close by. Our little explorer enjoyed running, puddle jumping and being chauffeured in the backpack.

The first in a series of local walks, that our guests can enjoy, from family-friendly routes to longer days out.

Meet Flo and Ben, farmer Jim’s sidekicks. These two know their job inside out, and have straight A’s when it comes to herding sheep at the farm.

You might spot them out in the fields in the morning, or taking a ride on the back of the quad bike.

When they’re not working, they’ve got a great setup for a well deserved rest in the barn.

Even with all of the rain, the sheep still need fresh water in the fields. 🌧️🐑

A simple job that has become a lovely part of family life, giving us the chance to spend more quality time together while caring for the animals.
