Anyone else wish they were a ferret? 😴💤

Ferrets make great pets due to the fact they are playful, friendly and intelligent - they're very easy to train! But on the flip side, they will sleep most of the day away!

🎶 Did you know that green parrots are very smart and musical? 🎶

Green parrots come in a variety of breeds, such as budgies, lovebirds, ringnecks and more, and all seem to be excellent mimics and singers. Because of their intelligence, they make fabulous companions (no more one sided conversations with your pet!) but this also means they need to be mentally stimulated.

Green parrots can not only sing and mime, but also carry things and play!

Did you know that hamsters are born with the set of teeth they'll have for life? Unlike us and other animals they don't have baby teeth or milk teeth so they need to look after their teeth.

Having things to chew on will help keep your hamsters teeth a healthy length 🦷

🦎 Did you know they also sleep like us? 🦎 💤

Although some humans are nocturnal like lizards (night owls anyone? 🦉) it wasn't thought that we shared anything in common with lizards. Until now.

A recent study of bearded dragons discovered that they have similar sleep patterns to humans, meaning that they have sleep cycles too.

Until this study, it was thought that only birds and humans shared the REM sleep patterns, but these bearded dragons were moving through the same sort of cycles, although quicker than human ones.

This discovery may mean that we are related to lizards and not only that, that dinosaurs also may have had sleep cycles. We guess even T-Rex had dreams 🦖

Did you know that birds date like us? 💃🕺

Most bird breeds will undergo a courtship like dating where the males will try and impress the females with singing and movement in the hopes to find a mate.

However, most bird breeds don't mate for life. Birds are more likely to stay together if they are lucky with offspring but if they don't they will "divorce" or move on or cheat.

Those that do, will produce lots of offspring and spend years together.

Anyone who has spent any time with a cockatoo will tell you, they are very chatty and very smart!

Being flock animals, they are highly social and have a well developed brains, smarter than some monkeys, so can learn skills with ease and even remember things that have happened to them and hold a grudge!
