Good morning, bunny parents 🐰💛
I wanted to share a little personal update and thank all my clients and followers for your continued support of ROSS — Rabbit Owner Support Services.
I have always been open about my health and personal life. With the bunnies staying in my home, working seven days a week and having become good friends with so many of you, my life and work are closely intertwined.
Caring for such precious furry family members is both wonderful and, at times, bittersweet. Many of the rabbits I look after have additional needs, and I would estimate that around 80% receive some form of medication, even if that is simply Metacam for arthritis. I also care for many elderly rabbits, including a number aged between 10 and 15. I feel honoured and humbled by the trust you place in me, and the responsibility, care and emotions involved are considerable.
As many of you know, I live with several health challenges, including neurodivergence and anxiety. For a few years now, I have also been struggling with severe exhaustion and low iron levels. Further blood tests are now being arranged to investigate whether coeliac disease could be contributing.
As a single parent with a beloved but demanding career, finding proper time to recover has been difficult. My last proper break was ten precious days in Egypt with Theo in November 2025. In 2024, we were very fortunate to be invited to the Lake District for a week by my sister and brother-in-law. Before that, our previous break was in 2022, when we travelled to Jamaica to see Theo’s father.
Between those holidays, work has continued seven days a week. I suspect that lack of regular time off has contributed considerably to my ongoing fatigue. One of the difficult realities of being self-employed is having no sick pay or holiday pay, which makes taking a break financially challenging.
I have now had to give up all my cleaning jobs because of exhaustion, and I am trying to make space for rest during quieter periods at ROSS.
I have also recently started paying for ChatGPT to help with the administration and office side of my business. Over the past couple of months, I have been delighted to share more professional-looking invoices, data sheets, educational pamphlets and clearer, more detailed health check information following your rabbits’ grooming and health check appointments.
My prices have remained the same for around three years. With inflation and the continuing rise in living and business costs, I have decided it is time to increase them. I am carefully considering prices that are fair and reflect the standard of care, time and attention I provide, while helping make ROSS sustainable.
Once I have finalised them, I will share the new prices for the remainder of this year and for 2027.
