All I can say about Kim is a God Send!

She really helped us out with having my daughters beardy for a week while we went away.

We had pictures, videos, top tips for hot weather and full reports of daily adventures she was having with our Maui.

Kim is so approachable with any questions, concerns and super knowledgeable with all reptiles that is great for any reassurance.

All viv’s are thoroughly clean and her home is very welcoming from the minute you step into the door.

Maui is very much looking forward to his next mini holiday with Kim already in August! Highly recommend for all reptiles! Boarding and questions that you may have!

Extra bonus… we now have a brand new material hammock Kim made for our Viv too after Maui loved her one so much!!

The Scaly Wall Of Fame! 🦎🐢🐍🐉💚

At Kim's Reptile Retreat we have been working on a little project to celebrate our business and guests, at our reptile hotel.

Once our hotel is completed, these wonderful photos will be mounted on a big board on the wall, for all to admire! 👌🏻🫶🏻

I've had photos printed of almost every reptile guest who has stayed with us over the past 3+ years, and they'll soon be displayed with pride and affection in our new reptile hotel.🏨

When sorting through the photos, we couldn't help but reflect on how far we've come. 😍

What started as a passion for exotics has grown into a trusted, and specialist, boarding service for owners across Cambridge and beyond.

Every photo tells a story. Each one represents a family who trusted our services and care with a much-loved pet, whether for a weekend away, a holiday, or an unexpected situation.

Our hope is that when clients visit, they'll enjoy seeing their wonderful reptiles that have stayed with us before.

More importantly, they'll see the community, experience, and trust that Kim's Reptile Retreat has built over the years.

We’re incredibly grateful to every client who has supported this journey and allowed me to care for their amazing reptiles.

When Maui’s person brings me flowers 🌻

Maui was collected by his family this morning, from our reptile retreat in Burwell, Cambridge.

He’d had a pedicure before hand 😄 so looked even more gorgeous!

They were very happy and appreciative of the care Maui received.
So much so, his special little person gave me a gift. 🌻
I love it, it’s perfect!💚 🙏🫶🏻

Seeing how grateful the family were over the past week to be receiving my notifications. Made me so happy, they’d had a few ruff days & needed their break away.

Having Maui looked after by someone that understands and talks dragon 😂😂 was a relief for them all. (I am the reptile nanny after all) 😂

Before departure 😂 they had a few questions to ask, which I happily answered.
I encourage everyone to ask questions & I’m happy to help.

Educating others especially the younger generation, is so important to me. They are our future, the more we educate them on proper care the better. Better for these fascinating creatures, saving them from careless hands in the future. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

🎤 IT’S BUG DAY 🥳🪳🦗

The look on his face when I sad it’s big day, priceless! ❤️🐉

He enjoyed every morsel 😋

Adult bearded dragons are meant to be fed bugs 2-3 times a week.
Unless they are babies and need feeding bugs 2-3 times daily.

You should reduce daily bug feedings once your young bearded dragon reaches about 30 grams in weight or is around 4–6 months old.
At this point, transition to feeding bugs every other day to prevent rapid, unhealthy growth and adult obesity.

I wish I could cope with being feed twice a week, don’t you? 🤣

This isn’t all they eat oh no, they need daily veggies & salad items too.
This helps them stay hydrated, provides roughage for their digestive system & keeps their hunger at bay (a little) 🤣

Veggies they can eat some daily some as a treat.

DAILY:

✅Spring greens
✅Rocket salad leaves
✅Collard greens
✅Arugula
✅Dandelion leaves
✅Cactus pad
✅Bell peppers
✅Squash (not juice kind) 😂

TREATS/OCCASIONAL:

✅Bok choy
✅Cabbage greens
✅Cilantro
✅Kale
✅Watercress
✅Grated carrot
✅Green beans
✅Dandelion flowers (1-3 flowers per week)

Can I afford the setup, heating, lighting, food & vet bills for an exotic pet? ££

Do I have the space and time? ⌚️

Who will care for them when I’m away? Especially is relatives dislike insects.

Am I ready for a long-term commitment?

Some tortoises live so long they may need to be included in your WILL 🐢
Reptiles are amazing pets, but they’re definitely not easy starter pets.

Research first. Buy responsibly 💚

“3 Things I Check”

These 3 things I check within 60 seconds of a reptile arriving.

1: Double check/owner/pets details making sure I have all contact details like emergency number, vets, temperature, all husbandry details.

2: Make sure the set up (enclosure) is sorted for the species arriving.

3: Temperatures, Humidity, UVB lighting (making sure all temperatures, humidity are spot on for type of reptile arriving.

Most reptile owners are terrified to leave their pets with someone else.
Honestly? I completely understand why.
