🚨🐶 Heatwave Warning for Dog Owners 🐶🚨
When temperatures rise, even a simple walk can become dangerous for our dogs. Unlike humans, dogs can’t cool themselves efficiently, and heatstroke can happen quickly — sometimes in just minutes.
Here’s how to keep your pup safe during a heatwave:
☀️ Walk early morning or late evening
🔥 Avoid hot pavements — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
💧 Always carry fresh water
🐕 Keep walks shorter and slower
🚫 Never leave dogs in cars, even for a minute
🌳 Stick to shaded areas where possible
Signs of heatstroke include:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Lethargy or wobbling
⚠️ Vomiting or collapse
If you notice these symptoms, move your dog somewhere cool immediately and contact your vet.
Pawtastic Pals Walks🐾
Your dog’s safety always comes first. During the extreme heat, walks may be shortened, moved to cooler times, or replaced with enrichment visits and garden play sessions to keep everyone safe and happy 💛💙🐾
Please stay safe and give your dogs plenty of rest, water, and cuddles this week 🫶🐾
