‼️Has your horse’s breathing changed recently? Did you wake up to a dusty car this morning? You’re not alone!
High winds have carried a plume of Saharan dust thousands of miles into Europe and the UK. This fine dust can temporarily increase the number of tiny particles in the air, which may affect air quality for a short time.
For our horses, just like for us, breathing clean air is important.
When airborne particles increase, it can sometimes aggravate respiratory conditions. Symptoms might include coughing, mild throat irritation, or slightly heavier breathing.
During periods like this you may find you need to temporarily adjust your horse’s management, for example:
• An extra puff on the inhaler
• Additional time with the nebuliser
• Or maybe a session with your favourite Salt Queen 👑
If your horse seems a little more sensitive to the dust at the moment, Salt Therapy can help support the airways and keep them breathing comfortably.
