Please help with little Jax’s ear bill if you can. He’s been incredibly brave here, smashing his after care!
❗️ ❗️We need your help ❗️ ❗️
Flo & Jax are in our care permanently due to both having ear disease. Jax has already had one ear operated on and now he’s just had his second ear surgery. This is likely to cost around £1,000 which is a huge cost for the rescue and puts us in a vulnerable position financially. This vet bill will be paid April 1st.
Ear disease is a common health issue with lop-eared rabbits. Due to the way they have been bred, their ears fold over allowing debris to get stuck, build up and cause their ear drums to burst and lead to infections and abscesses. These can eventually affect and rupture the bones too.
This is all extremely painful for rabbits so ear surgery is the best option.
Jax had his surgery at Highcroft Exotics and is doing well. He is just very frustrated because he has to wear a cone to protect the wound until it’s healed (he does have supervised cone-free time sometimes!)
If you can, please donate and help us pay for his operation. Every £1 will help - it all adds up!
