Reaching out to the lovely pet community for a bit of help π
Our beautiful boy, Bodhi, has unfortunately been diagnosed with severe problems in both of his front legs. He'll need several major operations throughout his life and will remain under the care of specialist orthopaedic vets.
Naturally, we want to do everything we can to strengthen his legs, delay the onset of arthritis for as long as possible and keep him as comfortable as we can. We'd really love your recommendations for hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, massage, or any other complementary therapies that you've personally had good experiences with.
His first surgery is next week, after which he'll be on strict rest for at least six weeks, followed by restricted exercise for around three months. He's only four months old, at the moment he's incredibly sociable, loves meeting new people and dogs, and enjoys exploring the world. We'd hate for such an important stage of his development to come to a halt.
So we're also looking for ideas for dog-friendly places where he can still enjoy new sights, sounds and experiences without lots of walking. CafΓ©s, garden centres, farm shops, beaches, historic estates, garden railways, anywhere he can sit in a buggy or be carried and simply watch the world go by. The more unusual the better!
We're based in Bristol, but we're happy to travel an hour or two for somewhere special.
If you've been through anything similar or have any recommendations at all, we'd be so grateful to hear them. Thank you. π
