Halloween is nearly here! 🎃👻

How cute are some of our staff pets all dressed up and ready for Halloween?!

Keeping your pets safe this Halloween:
🐾 Keep pets safely indoors and secure doors when trick-or-treaters arrive.
🎆 Walk dogs before dark and create a cosy, quiet space to help them feel safe during fireworks.
🍫 Keep chocolate, sweets and treats well out of reach.
🕯️ Keep pets away from candles and Halloween decorations.
👻 Never force your pet to wear a costume if they’re uncomfortable.

As pets get older, some changes can develop gradually and may not always be obvious at home.

We’re looking for a Part-Time Veterinary Care Assistant to join us at our busy first-opinion Veterinary Practice in Yate, Bristol! 🐶🐱

🗓️ Working hours: 23.75 hours per week

⏰ What does the role involve?

The role offers a mix of shifts throughout the week, including:
🐾 Monday, Tuesday & Friday
A mixture of morning shifts: 8:00am–1:30pm
Afternoon shifts: 1:30pm–7:00pm
🐾 Wednesday: One longer shift: 8:00am–4:15pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break

🐾 Weekends
Working 1 in 3 weekends
9:00am–1:00pm at our Yate practice

🧹 What will the role involve?
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you’ll help keep the practice running smoothly by supporting the veterinary team, assisting with the care and comfort of our patients, maintaining clean and hygienic clinical areas, and carrying out general cleaning duties throughout the practice.

❤️ Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is caring, reliable, hardworking and passionate about animal welfare. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team in a busy environment, be happy to get stuck into cleaning duties and take pride in helping us provide excellent care to our patients and their owners. You must be over 18 years old and have a full, valid driving license.

CPD at our Yate branch! ❤️

A big thank you to Kate, our cardiologist, and Olivia, our Head Veterinary Nurse, for running a fantastic CPD session for our team on CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).

Ongoing training is so important in veterinary practice, helping our team keep their knowledge and skills up to date so they can provide the best possible care for our patients, especially in an emergency. 🩺🐶🐱
