Cannington Equestrian Centre Part of Bridgwater and Taunton College, Cannington Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society approved Training and Exam Centre based in Somerset.

The Centre and all of its fantastic facilites and horses are avaliable for public use all year round. Bridgwater College's Equestrian Centre is an approved British Horse Society (BHS) riding school based in Somerset. Our facilities include an indoor and outdoor arena, a range of show jumps, fillers, portable cross country fences, two large stable blocks and a variety of well-schooled horses. All o

f our instructors are BHS qualified and we offer quality instruction in dressage and show jumping either on our horses or on your own horse. Private and group lessons are available for riders of all abilities (aged 10 years +).

🐎 Mini Jump Club at the Cannington Equestrian Centre, re- starting every other Thursday in term time.

For riders who have had some experience with jumping and poles, are able to walk and trot confidently, working with development in the canter.

Spaces are limited to to ensure individual progression in the session.

Luigi is one of the horses at Cannington College, and he wants to meet you!
Luigi’s Club is open to anyone who has a keen interest in horses and are 11-14 years old (years 7-9 at school). You need to be able to walk and be capable of rising trot but can have some help.
You will also focus on horse care and key skills, all included in the session.
There will be a 35-minute ride, and 35-minute lecture. You’ll get a taste of the fantastic facilities and expert coaching BTC offers year-round.
Only £20 per session! Payment in advance secures booking.

BHS Changing Lives through Horses (CLTH) Programme
Every Thursday in term-time, starting Friday 18

September 2025, from 9.30am – 2pm

For 14-16 year olds. CLTH aims to improve the lives of young people who, for various reasons, may need additional support, are disengaged, or disadvantaged, or at risk of becoming excluded from education.

Using horses as the inspiration for change, the programme provides an alternative and complementary learning environment to mainstream education. The skills developed through the programme meet the requirements of ongoing education and training, employers and participants.

The programme works to develop six key life skills through equestrian activity:

Communication
Confidence
Building relationships
Teamwork
Responsibility
Perseverance.
There are two frameworks – the achieve awards and the explorers’ awards. Both offer horse care and ridden modules. Our bespoke programme at Cannington Equestrian Centre aims students towards integrating into further education in the College and developing further though the BTC Advantage.

One session: £51, Block of 5 Sessions: £229

The session includes a 40-min ride and care session.
