Thinking about feeding your dog a grain-free diet? ๐ถ๐พ
Grain-free diets have become increasingly popular, but are they really the healthiest choice?
Current veterinary advice is that most healthy dogs do not need a grain-free diet, and ongoing research has raised concerns about a possible link between some grain-free diets and heart disease (dilated cardiomyopathy, or DCM) in some dogs. While research is still ongoing, there is no proven health benefit to feeding a grain-free diet to healthy dogs, unless it has been specifically recommended by your veterinary surgeon.
Weโve put together this guide to help explain the facts, clear up some common myths, and support you in making informed decisions about your dogโs nutrition.
If youโre thinking about changing your dogโs diet or would like advice on choosing the right food, our veterinary team is always happy to help. ๐พ
