🎄 Christmas Tip: gift wrap 🎁

Gift wrap is dangerous for pets because it can cause intestinal blockages if ingested, leading to serious health issues that may require emergency surgery.
The primary dangers come from wrapping paper, ribbons, and bows, which can also cause choking or internal damage.

If you are visiting friends or family and staying for any length of time, it’s always wise to find out first whether your dog will be welcome.
Ask if there will be any other dogs or cats there and also whether there will be any small children. Only take your dog if you know you can keep them safe in someone else’s house.

Meet Kouper 🐾 A collie cross spaniel - he is full of energy! He's owned by our RVN Jayde.
This was him last year experiencing Christmas as a puppy! 🐶

🎄 Christmas Tip: lights 💡

If chewed, electric wires can cause burns or even electrocution. Even just exploring new wires during play can cause accidents if they are pulled. If you need extra wires for lights or decorations, make sure any cables are kept hidden or out of reach of curious pets to avoid them getting caught up in them.

🎄 Christmas Tip: safe toys 🧸

The safest toy options include durable rubber toys, certain rope toys and some stuffed toys with no small, detachable parts. Always choose toys appropriate for your dog's size and chewing style, and supervise them to prevent choking or ingestion of small parts.
