A huge thank you to Wes and Jen, who organise Bridgnorth Music and Arts Festival, and to all their volunteers, for keeping the High Street so clean and tidy during today's festivities!

We were very pleased to see extra bins were placed around the High Street to help manage festival litter. This extra bin is full to the brim, showing that people will use bins if they are provided. We're sure that if Shropshire Council replaced all of our missing bins, people would use them too!

Vicky was out earlier in the week cleaning up the gutters around Kings Loade. We think small improvements can make a big difference to how our town looks, and with Shropshire Council's road sweepers a rare sight nowadays, we're doing everything we can to help keep the town looking loved!

Have you spotted the changes on Cartway over the weekend?

Huw spent Saturday afternoon pulling up w**ds, sweeping the gutters, and fixing wonky signs, helping this picturesque corner of Bridgnorth to look its best.

Thank you to those who highlighted this as a problem area. If you spot similar issues around town, please report them to Shropshire Council first using the Fix My Street link below:

This ensures the issue is logged instead of going unrecorded. Shropshire Council remains responsible for street cleaning, but we will continue to do our best to help out where we can!

In some happier news, we've spotted both Mike and sarahs family butchers and Giovanni's Ice Cream, Coffee and Crepes. cleaning up their pavements over the weekend, so a massive thank you to both!

Not pictured, but a special mention to The Hideout Bridgnorth, who we spotted sweeping their pavement in the early hours of yesterday morning - thank you!

Big thanks to all the local businesses who continue to take pride in their town - we all appreciate it!

Yet again, we wake up to bins that haven't been emptied, leaving nowhere for today's rubbish to go.

A month ago, we published an open letter calling on Shropshire Council to restore litter bins that have disappeared from Bridgnorth's streets.

Since then, Shropshire Council has acknowledged that bins have been removed, and said that it is working to replace bins when possible, but these photos from this weekend show what is happening right now.

Bins are overflowing, and our volunteers are once again having to clear up the consequences.

Shropshire Council has now had time to investigate and act. Instead, we're seeing the same problem over and over again, with volunteers compensating for gaps in the council's service.

We don't want to keep picking up the same rubbish. We need the conditions that create the problem to be addressed in the first place.

Shropshire Council, please restore our missing bins.

We get many requests to tidy other areas around town, but it's a tough job w**ding such long stretches by hand. A huge thank you to Gary for helping our Christine whilst she was out clearing up the w**ds and muck around the Bandon roundabout yesterday!

Gary was on his way to a boiler inspection when he saw Christine and stopped to help her for over half an hour. A big well done to both for tackling this horrible but much-needed job!

Weeds collect litter, clog drains and damage brickwork, so we're doing our best to remove them where they've become a problem around town.

Whilst out tackling Listley Street over the weekend, we were quickly joined by local residents Jane and Magdalene as they were walking past!

Thank you to both for taking time out of your day to help us - it's great to have passers-by getting stuck in and supporting us!

31 bags (and a traffic cone) later, the Hermitage is looking clean and tidy again! ✨

Christine, Mary, Liz and Huw were out early this morning, clearing up the mountain of rubbish thrown out of car windows.

Thank you to everyone who slowed down for us on the blind corners, and thank you to the gentleman who gifted us a box of M&S chocolates! 🍫

Special thanks to Lynn and Tony who we bumped into whilst they were picking around Stanmore - it's great to see others keeping our town tidy!
