Heading into BUSY season 🤪🤩

We have a couple new faces this year, but always forever grateful to be kept so busy with returning clients for a 6th year for many of them! I must be doing something right 🥰

☀️ DOG TRAINING & HOT WEATHER ☀️

As the weather starts warming up, your dog’s safety will always come first here 💜🐾

If temperatures are rising above 23°C for a scheduled training session, the session will not take place and will instead be rearranged for a cooler day/time.

While training is important, it’s never worth risking heat stress or heat exhaustion. Sessions can always be rescheduled, your dog’s wellbeing comes first, always!

Please also keep an eye out for signs of heat stress in dogs, including:
🐶 Heavy panting
🐶 Bright red gums/tongue
🐶 Lethargy or weakness
🐶 Vomiting or diarrhoea
🐶 Glazed eyes
🐶 Wobbliness/unsteadiness

During warmer weather:
💧 Always carry water
🌳 Stick to shaded areas
🚫 Avoid exercising during the hottest parts of the day
🐾 Keep walks shorter and calmer if needed

Thank you for helping me keep your dogs safe, happy and healthy this summer ☀️💜

☀️🐾 HOT WEATHER CHANGES TO DOG WALKING 🐾☀️

With the warmer weather starting to arrive, I just wanted to give everyone a little update on how walks will be adapted to keep all the dogs as safe, happy & comfortable as possible over the summer months 💛

Your dogs’ welfare will always come first, which means during hotter days you may notice a few changes to our normal routine including:
🐶 Earlier walk times
🌳 Shadier/cooler walk locations
💧 More water breaks
😌 Slower paced, calmer walks
🚐 Extra cooling measures in the van
🏡 Switching to home visits where needed

If temperatures become too high for safe walks, walks may be changed to enrichment-based home visits instead. This allows dogs to still have company, stimulation & toilet breaks without risking overheating ☀️

As always, I’ll be monitoring temperatures closely each day and making decisions based on what is safest for the dogs in my care 🫶🏼

I’d also LOVE to hear everyone’s own tips & tricks for keeping your dogs cool during summer 👇🏼🐾

Bank holiday shop… but make it dog training 🐾

Empty retail parks/shop carparks after hours are a perfect location for practicing your training in different places!

New environment ✔️
Real-life distractions (but manageable) ✔️
Space to actually think ✔️

This is where the true learning happens, taking what your dog can do at home and gently building it into the real world 🌍

Because we don’t want the only time your dog listens to be at home away from the distractions, right?

This is where most dog owners get stuck, because this part takes time, planning, and most importantly consistency 🤯

How helpful would it be if you had someone helping you to through this stage? Taking some of the pressure off, and ensuring your dog is trained 👀

What does your dog struggle with the most with their training? 💭

Coming back when called? Walking nice on lead? Barking at other dogs or people? Jumping up? Or something else?

My MOST requested training topic… 👀

🥁🥁…ADOLESCENCE!

Also known as the teenage stage

That lovely phase where your dog seems to wake up one day and forget everything you’ve ever taught them 🤣

Suddenly they’re…

❌ Ignoring recall
❌ Pulling like a train
❌ Jumping up
❌ Barking at other dogs
❌ Getting overexcited by everything

And you’re left thinking: “What on earth happened to my puppy?!”

This is the stage I help owners with the most!

Because adolescence isn’t just something to “wait out”…it’s a key stage where your dog needs clear guidance, consistency and the right training in place so those frustrating behaviours don’t become long-term habits 👏🏼

If your young dog has hit the teenage stage and things feel a bit chaotic, I can help
