Thank you for your support! Moderation guidelines
The RSPCA is here for animals and we’d love our page to reflect this. There are so many important animal welfare messages to get across and discussions to be had; we’ve got a few guidelines to ensure all this important stuff doesn’t get lost! To help us keep animal welfare at the top of the agenda, please don’t post any:

• violent, obscene, profane, hateful, or racist posts, links or images
• comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation
• solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any financial, commercial or not-for-profit organisations.
• comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity
• multiple successive off-topic or disruptive posts
• repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated
• posts containing specific details about cruelty cases (these should be reported to the cruelty line on 0300 1234 999, rather than posted here)
• posts which we feel may potentially impact upon prosecutions. Where an investigation is considered ‘active’, any comments made about the case may mean someone facing charges might not be in a position to have a fair trial and the trial could collapse. We reserve the right to delete any of these types of comments, or ban any user who infringes these guidelines. In addition to this, individuals who seek to persistently antagonise our supporters, and accounts which are suspected to be false profiles created with the intention of breaching a ban and persistently antagonising RSPCA supporters, will be removed from the page.

Jessie is a sweet, affectionate girl who came into our care after she was found living in poor conditions in a multi-animal home 😔

She adores being fussed, enjoys her tasty snacks, and will happily join you for walks or playtime with her toys.

Could you be the one to give her the happy home she deserves? Apply to RSPCA Gonsal Farm Animal Centre: https://bit.ly/4mkNfhj

A man from Hampshire has been given a six-month suspended sentence after three dogs died and another was left seriously ill when he shut them in his car for up to six hours 💔

The tragedy unfolded when the dogs were left in the man's car from 10am until 4pm on a hot day in August, when the outside temperature was around 23°C.

Six-month-old Labrador Milo, who had been left with the man for training, heartbreakingly passed away, along with the man's own Cockapoo and Cocker Spaniel. Another Cocker Spaniel, Rocky, collapsed but pulled through following emergency veterinary treatment.

Images of Milo have kindly been shared by his family 💙

Too many black cats spend longer looking for homes because of old myths and superstitions 💔

The truth? Black cats aren’t 'bad luck'. They’re not 'harder to photograph'. They’re just overlooked! Fur colour doesn’t change the amount of love they’ll bring to your life.

Check out the fabulous felines ready to prove the myths wrong this Black Cat Appreciation Day: http://bit.ly/RSPCA-FindAPet

What do Humbug, Sweetie Pie, and Nico all have in common? They've all spent the entire year waiting for a home at RSPCA - Great Ayton Animal Centre because of the colour of their fur 💔

It's a sad reality that black cats in our care are so often overlooked, despite their unique personalities and pure beauty.

Could you turn their luck around and give one of these wonderful felines a chance? Visit their profiles this Black Cat Appreciation Day 👇

Dogs never died from missing a walk ⚠️

If the pavement is too hot for your hand for five seconds, it's definitely too hot for paws. During a spell of hot weather, stick to walks at dusk and dawn to avoid burnt paw pads and heat-related illnesses, and if in doubt, don't go out.

Make sure you're clued up on the risk factors and symptoms of heatstroke, and the steps to take if your dog is overheating: https://bit.ly/3ZyghAU

Please share this vital reminder to help protect our canine companions in hot weather 🔁
