Ivy the golden retriever was all smiles yesterday after coming in for a dental scale and polish 🦷✨

📢 Important Update: EU Pet Travel Rules Have Changed 🐾 April 2026 ⚠️

We’re advising all clients to take note of a recent rule change that may affect your travel plans with pets.

🚨 What’s new?
❗ EU Pet Passports are no longer valid for GB residents, even if issued in the EU, these can no longer be used if you live in Great Britain. Which means Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) are now required for every trip. You must obtain a new AHC from an Official Veterinarian each time you travel to the EU.

✈️ Key requirements (still apply):
🔹 Microchip (before or at time of rabies vaccination)
🔹 Up-to-date rabies vaccination (with 21-day wait after first vaccine)
🔹 AHC issued within 10 days of travel

🐕 Tapeworm treatment for dogs entering certain countries (24–120 hours before arrival)

📄 AHC validity:
✔ Entry into the EU
✔ Onward travel within the EU
✔ Return to the UK (within the valid period)

⚠️ Please plan ahead – AHC appointments can be limited, especially during busy travel periods.

Meet Benson 🐾

We had a very special visitor at the practice today, the adorable puppy Benson came in to see us! He was showing us his new learnt trick- paw! 🐾 🩵

We love meeting our patients, especially when they’re as charming as Benson. We can’t wait to see him again as he grows! 🐕✨

Barney was in with us today for his dental procedure 🐶🦷

While he did brilliantly during his surgery, he wasn’t too impressed with his kennel afterwards! So, he enjoyed some extra TLC in the prep room, keeping our nurses company and soaking up all the attention until his mum and dad arrived to take him home 💙

Iggy is recovering well after his dental procedure! 🦷💙 He’s been a very brave patient and is already on the mend with plenty of cuddles and care.

Two different patients in with us yesterday, but both equally deserving of the full VIP (Very Important Princess) treatment 👑✨

Shadow the Bull Terrier was in for a mass removal and was incredibly brave throughout her procedure – a big dog with an even bigger heart 💛

Meanwhile little Mabel came in for her spay, bringing along her trusty sheep for moral support (which we’re pleased to report, did an excellent job 🐑).

Both patients insisted on being hand fed after their procedures, and of course we’re always happy to oblige a little post-op pampering 🥰

Wishing both Shadow and Mabel a smooth and speedy recovery at home 💕
