We’ve had quite a quiet winter of shows as all the established horses’ end of season holiday ended up being rather extended due to lots of exciting improvements being made to the yard at home. However we’ve been working away with a lovely little batch bringing them up to speed ready for the season ahead.
Wednesday’s show saw 4 horses jump 5 classes with double clears all round

7yo mare by Voss. Beautiful stamp whos done a little bit of everything but in general been a bit wasted with us and needs someone to show her more of the world. Done a few months of BS where she won a couple of discoveries and was ready to step up. Arena cross country schooled inc water. Lovely ride on the flat inc lateral work and changes.
Good to do in all ways inc hack, catch, box, clip, shoe etc.
Would suit a confident, competent rider. Forward going and has a slight tendency to rush when she jumps. We think she would thrive and improve with more turnout and variety than we can offer her.

Final training session and indoor arena familiarisation for Sophia Hendy’s Johnny A before he heads to HOYS.

Then back and onto the 3yos for their 2nd time ridden and and first time solo, both such lovely girls to work with. We see the Atherton family’s Oso Bellagio and my own Vitaly Prinseveld DSC (Qornet van de Bisschop x Quintero ) 🤗 (with help from Bob 🐈 and Roger 🐕)

Perfect last show for Sophia Hendy’s Johnny A (Cevin Z) before HOYS - he jumps the Grace C final on Sunday morning.
🥈 in the 1.30/1.40m on Friday and 🥈 again on Sunday but this time from the 1.40m section (🎥) as the highest placed 1.40 horse, even in the torrential rain 💦 🙌
Never jumped him indoors but have every faith in his ability 🤞

💥💥We are hiring!! 💥💥

🔹We are looking for an extra pair of hands to join our team. Role includes all general yard duties, bringing in, turning out and tacking up for lessons. We work as a team and all muck in together so sole charge is rare. There is riding available if wanted.

🔷Loads of training available for someone wanting to improve their skills and knowledge whether in riding or all other aspects of horse care.

🔹Accommodation is provided in the house with all meals included and livery for your own horse is available if wanted. We are regularly out training and competing and can potentially offer opportunities in these aspects if suitable.

🤐We’ve been inexcusably quiet on here recently but it hasn’t been for lack of anything interesting, in fact we’ve been ridiculously busy!!

🐎The jumping horses have all been on top form, we had a super Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show with clears all round and a win for Tomboy in the two fence challenge. Sophia Hendy’s Johnny A has maintained his usual top form qualifying for the foxhunter masters at Bicton and placing every day at Chard International. The Atherton family’s boys have also maintained their consistent form, particularly proud of Mor Maximus 2nd in the foxhunter at his first county show of the year.

🙌Jabeena has been here there and everywhere! Training went absolutely mad on the run up to the olympics with several countries riders making use of her incredible expertise for some last minute training. Paris was the last Olympics to include riding in the pentathlon and, although our athletes were plagued with injury and illness, they did her proud with their riding.

🐴 Best boy Chance has had an unfortunately quiet year due to a little ni**le and has been sorely missed. However he has performed his duties in other areas and we are delighted that two of our very best mares Bayjing and Cherokee Bay have scanned in foal to him 🎉

🚜 We have made some great progress around the farm with some improvements and changes, still a long way to go but delighted with how our project is coming along.

A sad day for British breeding, so glad we used him when we did. We have a super smart 2 year old from Bayjing and a lovely leggy yearling out of Cherokee Bay and have very high hopes for both 🤞

𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗝𝗲 𝗧’𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼 (or Doug to his friends), who passed away peacefully yesterday at Stallion AI Services.

Je T’aime Flamenco was one of the most influential and desirable jumping stallions that has stood in the UK over recent years. A son of Flamenco De Semilly and bred in Belgium by Michel Spaas.
Born in 2000, he was imported to the UK by Penny Cornish as a 5-year-old.
He was then purchased for Billy Twomey by the late Eddie & Sue Davies. Je T’aime Flamenco rapidly became a star among Billy’s string of horses. Winning the GP at HOYS at only 8 years old, it was obvious that he was going to have a glittering competition career. Among his accolades, were seven international Grand Prix wins, three at five-star level.

His rider Billy Twomey described him as a “clear round machine”.

Je T’aime Flamenco first came to Stallion AI Services back in 2006, which was just the beginning of both his competition career and as a sire.
Awarded the BWP Ambassador accolade, Je T’aime Flamenco is known for his exceptional fertility and proven as a reliable producer of top-class stock. His offspring have competed in the Nations Cup, Global Champions, and Eventing. His son Fellow Castlefield helped Australia to secure Olympic qualification for Paris.

Being such an easy horse, he frequently starred as the demo stallion in Stallion AI Services famous webinars and was the first stallion to ever be shown doing a collection live on Facebook streaming.
He was a loveable stallion with a cheeky charm and was known to pop his head around the door of the office for a sneaky treat on his way to the paddock.

Our thoughts are with his owner Janette Chinn and the amazing people who have loved and cared for him throughout his life.
