This is a wonderful example of how golden retrievers are family dogs. They just want to be with their loved ones and join in . It’s also a reminder when they are puppies that training is so important. Simply because whatever they start doing as a puppy easily get ingrained as future behaviour.

So be very careful what you allow and what you encourage. Things that spring to mind are : do you allow dogs upstairs; on sofas etc. are they jumping up on guests 🤷‍♂️. Try and check the unfavourable behaviours as soon as they happen because it’s more difficult to change these behaviours later. Remember, behaviours are your responsibility , so choose wisely.

Vet costs
As a responsible golden retriever owner I always ask a lot of questions of potential new owners.
These include their work hours and how available they can be at home for pets; and if they know the full costs of owning a dog.
But even so, the costs of owning a dog can get very high with rising vet bills 😱😱

This video is entertaining but it shows how all dogs are individually programmed.

I love the way all our dogs have different personalities and different likes and dislikes. What motivates one pooch might distress another. That’s why when you come to me for training each session is one to one, and I will spend the time to ask lots of questions and listen to all you have to say about your dog and his/ her issues.

Then I will devise a training plan individually tailored to each dog. Because what works for one dog will not necessarily work for every dog. 🤷‍♂️
