This is Clifford, and he has quite the story.

After being missing for eight months, he arrived at our Hartley Wintney practice with a nasty wound at the base of his tail. Vet Nat was able to gently clip and clean the area to keep him comfortable, and at his check up a week later, he was already feeling so much better.

We’re so happy that Clifford is safe, healing and finally back home where he belongs 🏡

Mocha visited our Basingstoke practice for his castration recently… and honestly, he spent the whole visit looking like the sunniest little sunflower you’ve ever seen 🌻😊

He charmed everyone. Zero notes!

Hearing feedback like this means the world to our team!

Thank you to this lovely client for the kind words about vet Sabina and our Crookham Park practice. We know how important it is to have support you can rely on when a pet is unwell and we’re glad we could be there to help 🩵

We’re very sorry to share that a deceased female, dark brown/black DLH cat has been brought into our Basingstoke practice after being found on Quilter Road.

She has no collar or microchip, so we have been unable to identify an owner.

If you believe this may be your cat, please contact the team at St Kitts Vets Basingstoke on 01256 844944.

Please feel free to share to help us reach her owner 🩵

Say hello to Freddie!

He visited our Hartley Wintney team for his castration and spent his recovery time having a great play session with Nurse Michaela 🥰

Procedures like this are quick, routine and help reduce future health risks, and Freddie bounced back beautifully.

Hot weather reminder: keep those water bowls topped up! 💧

Dogs, cats and small pets all need extra hydration in this weather. Fresh water, shade and regular breaks make a big difference.

Dehydration can creep up quickly, with signs including:

- Lethargy
- Dry gums
- Excessive panting
- Reduced appetite

If you’re concerned about your pet, please do call your vet straight away.

🌡️🚗 During this heatwave, a parked car can reach 40–50°C incredibly quickly, even with the windows open. Dogs can’t cool themselves the way we do, which puts them at serious risk of heatstroke.

We’re sharing a helpful graphic from Vets Now that shows just how quickly temperatures can climb inside a car. It happens much faster than most people realise.

Please never leave your dog in the car, even for a short stop.

Cuteness level: off the charts 😍

We welcomed eight Maine C**n kittens to our Firgrove practice for their first vaccinations and health checks. Early vet visits help set kittens up for a healthy start in life, from protecting them against common illnesses to making sure they’re growing well and getting used to the practice environment.

Rabbits can struggle in hot weather, especially during a heatwave.

We’ve shared a The Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund hot weather checklist with simple steps to help keep them cool, from frozen water bottles to shaded runs and good ventilation.

A quick glance can help protect them in the heat 🐰☀️
